Looking for tools to help with child find and to connect with families about developmental milestones?  Join Virginia's Act Early Ambassador, Deana Buck, to learn more about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s FREE, new Milestone Tracker app. During this webinar participants will learn more about the app's unique features, receive tips on how to use the app to boost family engagement around developmental monitoring and screening, and get ideas for how to help promote the app in their communities.  A panel of "early adopters" will share their experiences with using the app, and then we will all brainstorm ways to use this tool in our work in early intervention to engage parents and other care providers.

M EET THE PRESENTERS:

Deana Buck
Deana M. Buck, M.Ed. 
In addition to serving as the Act Early Ambassador, Deana Buck is the Early Childhood Content Leader at the Partnership for People with Disabilities at VCU. She administers a variety of initiatives in the early childhood area at the Partnership, including the Integrated Training Collaborative. Her graduate training is in special education at the University of Virginia and she has worked in the field of early intervention for over 30 years. She a special interest in projects and efforts that work with families to identify developmental concerns in young children as early as possible, through collaboration with community partners.  


Jackie Robinson Brock Jackie Robinson Brock, M.S.W.
Jackie Robinson Brock earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work. She is employed at the VCU Partnership for People with Disabilities. At the Partnership, Jackie serves as a Program Specialist in Early Childhood and Health and works on a variety of projects as a Director and Coordinator.  Jackie has just completed her responsibilities as Project Director for the Project SEED (Social Emotional Education and Development) Virginia, which worked to enhance system capacity and quality of services for infants and toddlers. Her interest areas include disability, domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, homelessness, Native Americans, children, and adolescents. 


Courtney Pugh_ B.S. Courtney Pugh, B.S.
Courtney Pugh is a lifelong resident of Salem, Virginia where she is serving in PEATC's Roanoke satellite office. She is a graduate of Emory & Henry College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management & Administration. She has worked in a variety of companies and field while pursuing her passion for advocating for students with disabilities. Courtney is a graduate of the Parents as Collaborative Leaders, a COPAA member, and has attended many conferences, workshops, and seminars in her quest for more knowledge and understanding of regulations and more efficient IEP collaborations. Courtney and her husband Chris are parents of two exceptional boys who provide them with the strength and inspiration that everyone can live their lives to the fullest. All are active members of the Boy Scouts where she advocates for full inclusion of boys with special needs.


Pam Booker_ M.Ed. Pam Booker, M.Ed. 
Pamala Booker, with the Partnership for People with Disabilities, at Virginia Commonwealth University, has a depth of experience in the field of early childhood. Pam obtained her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Pam has enjoyed 26+ years of providing services to children and their families directly as well as providing training and technical assistance to early childhood professionals working in early intervention programs, preschool programs, and Head Start programs across the country and the outer Pacific Basin. 


Telisha Woodfiin Telisha Woodfin, M.S.W.
Telisha Woodfin is a Richmond native, wife, mother of three wonderful children, and Monitoring Consultant for the Infant and Toddler Connection of Virginia. She hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work and have more than 15+ years of experience working with children and families across the lifespan. Her life mission is to nurture the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being of others by demonstrating love.

We'd like to request that you register only if you plan to attend so that all who are interested are able to login. Additionally, if you participate as a group, each individual does not need to register. One person can register for the group and can then share the access to the survey allowing each individual to obtain a certificate of participation.
