Rabbi's Message
Parshat Vayikra
This Shabbat we have the rare opportunity to read from three Sifrei Torah.  The first reading is from the weekly Parsha which is Vayikra.  We will combine the sixth and seventh Aliyah.  The seventh Aliyah will be read from a second Sefer Torah for Rosh Chodesh.  The Maftir Aliyah will be read from the third Sefer Torah for Parshat Hachodesh.
I don't know about you, but this is pretty exciting for me.  (Maybe I just need to get out more).  In fact, when I became Bar Mitzvah, I was disappointed that it did not fall out on a "Three-Torah-Day."  I was born on Rosh Chodesh Chanukah, but that year it did not fall on Shabbat.  Oh well.
In Judaism, we should always strive for more Torah and more rituals that inspire us.  With Pesach right around the corner, this should hopefully not be too hard.

Mission to Washington
Wednesday, April 25, 2018

NORPAC's Mission to Washington is an annual event where we bring close to a thousand citizen activists to Washington, DC, in order to advocate for a stronger U.S.-Israel relationship with Members of Congress.

Mission attendees are bused (or can use their own transportation) to Washington in the morning, and arrive at the Warner Theatre where they attend a brief plenary session with presentations by Congressional leadership. Afterwards, individuals converge to their assigned groups - usually of 4 to 6 people - and meet with Members of Congress and their staff to discuss this year's talking points regarding pressing legislation on U.S.-Israeli concerns.

The event wraps up the same day in the early evening, and transportation is provided to get back home.
