Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;
in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
Thoroughly wash me from my guilt
and of my sin cleanse me.
Create a clean heart in me, O God.
Psalm 51

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you.  To everyone who has sent or expressed words of support and concern for me, I wish to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation.

MOMENT OF PRAYER
On Wednesday, March 14th, MBS joined Catholic schools across the country in praying for an end to violence and peace among all people. At MBS, our students and teachers stepped back from their instructional day, to pray a Decade of the Rosary to implore the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary with her son, Jesus Christ, to bring peace and justice to our country.

COUNSELING CORNER

MS Service Hours
7th and 8th grade volunteer opportunity:
We have been asked for students to help with an event at St. Andrew's Hall on March 24th.  They are holding the 8th annual St. Joseph's Festival from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.  They need helpers from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.  The students would help bus tables and clean up.  Parents, please be aware wine and beer are offered at this event.  It would be helpful for a few parents to volunteer as well to oversee our student helpers.   If your child is willing to offer a few hours of service, please contact [email protected]  with times they are available to help.  Remember, our MBS students need 20 hours of community service before completing the 8th grade.

This Week
This week I met with grades 3, 4, and 5.  It is required that each year we talk about topics from "For Sake of God's Children: Keeping our Promises" guidelines.  Today we discussed trusted adults, safety, buddy systems, safe touch, secrets and strangers.  we discussed "10 Safe Smart Rules for Kids and Grown Ups." We also discussed some "What ifs."  Parents, please talk to your children about this.  We all must have family rules for safety and strangers.  If you have any questions or need suggestions, please contact me at [email protected].

Please alert the office and your child's teacher if you the parents/guardians are going out of town.  Included in the memo should be who to contact in case of an emergency or if the student is sick.

We are in full swing of the cold/flu/virus season. Here are some tips to help stop the spread of these illnesses throughout the classroom.
  • If you suspect your child has a virus or any other illness, it is recommended to have an evaluation by your primary care provider as soon as possible.  Don't forget your doctor's note to return to school. This note informs the school that the student is not or is no longer contagious and may return to school.
  • School policy requires that when your child is out 3 days or more, he/she must have a doctor's note to return to school.
  • If your child is sent home from school, your child is to stay home until symptoms cease without medication. This will mean the student must stay home from school the next day.
  • For questions regarding the Health policies of the school, please refer to your Family Hand Book, pages 13-15, or call Mrs. Carlson @410-208-1600.
  • By keeping your child home, you will help contain the spread of illnesses and your child will get the rest they need.  If you feel your child needs another day at home because of a recent sickness, please keep them home. Because of all the other viruses that are in peak now, your child is less likely to pick up another illness if they have enough rest.
  • With all illnesses it is important to remind your child about frequent hand washing, no sharing of food/utensils, and cover your cough and sneeze.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to prevent the spread of illnesses/viruses.

Vision Statement

Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School provides rigorous and technologically relevant instruction that is intentionally integrated with Catholic identity.  Together, as Pastors, administrators, teachers and parents, we nurture the development of the mind, the body, and the soul, in each of our students.  Our students are able to make sound decisions based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and modeled upon the lives of the saints.  As a faith and learning community, we teach students a passion for the truth and a love for discovery and knowledge. Our students are prepared to relate their Catholic faith to their culture and actively live their faith as members of the greater community.
