Other Board Business

Hopkins Foundation Tuition Assistance Program
The Board approved the Hopkins Foundation Tuition Assistance Program. Staff at Emporia High School (EHS) submitted a proposal to the Hopkins Foundation to provide tuition assistance for EHS students who meet the ACT fee waiver guidelines and plan to enroll in postsecondary courses at Emporia State University or Flint Hills Technical College. The Hopkins Foundation has agreed to fund the program with a maximum tuition award amount of $25,000 annually. EHS staff will work with juniors and seniors to take advantage of this great opportunity. The addition of this program will  help prepare the district to meet one of the five pillars of the Kansans Can vision with more students having the opportunity to achieve postsecondary success.
