CAMP SANCTA MARIA
Thanking God and Celebrating 85 Years
of Forming Young Christian Lives
1933 - 2018
A Letter From Fr. Bob and John David

Dear Friends and Family of Camp Sancta Maria,

As the 2018 CSM Summer Season draws near, there is much excitement in the air! The returning counselors and staff eagerly anticipate the start of Camp. And parents have shared with us how their children cannot wait to be back at CSM this summer.

One parent shared that she wished she had sent her daughter to CSM when she was younger, a testament to how much her daughter loves being at CSM! Another parent mentioned that their children are earning money doing odd jobs in order to be able to return to Camp for a second year in a row.

The excitement of the campers, counselors, and parents is contagious!

If you're looking for a place where your child or grandchild can make memories that last a lifetime, CSM is the place to be! We recently received this message from Pete, a camper who was here in the 1940's:

"I'm 82 years old and still have such wonderful memories of Camp Sancta Maria. I'm guessing the two summers I attended would have been 1947 and 1948. I recall Father Chawke and Thomas Bean as being the main people in charge at that time. The counselors were seminarians.... I recall a lake we swam in, forests where we played "Capture the Flag", softball, basketball and horseback rides. A side note: Tom Bean became my coach in basketball and baseball at St. Mary's of Royal Oak, MI. I loved that man and look forward to seeing him in the next life. May the Lord continue to bless Camp Sancta Maria."

All of these stories serve as reminders of the blessing and joy it is to be a part of CSM and share in its storied history as we celebrate 85 years!

We would like as many young people as possible to experience this great joy. Please help spread the word and tell others about the memories and experiences your children have had at Camp Sancta Maria.

There is nothing quite as powerful as the testimony of a fellow parent to encourage another family to become part of the CSM family!

We also ask you to encourage your family and friends to support the Benefit Dinner on April 12 and the Golf Outing on June 7 (see details below). Thank you for helping to spread the word about CSM with those who may be able to help support Camp!

We look forward to seeing many of you at the Benefit Dinner, at  Camp, and at the Golf Outing!

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Jan Klemm at 248-822-8199 or [email protected].

Thank you for being part of the Camp Sancta Maria family! We couldn't do this without you, and we are truly grateful.  May God richly bless you and your loved ones!

Sincerely,

Fr. Bob Spezia

CSM is held in a trust governed by an independent Board of Trustees. While the Archdiocese of Detroit had generously donated the services of one its priests for decades, they are not responsible for CSM financially. This means that we are responsible to secure our own funding to advance the mission that has been passed down to us since our founding in 1933. To continue this essential work, we need your help. Are you feeling called to donate? Thank you for your prayerful consideration! Donations
