A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

It's a bright new beginning for 2018 and the staff are pumped! Spring is just around the corner, the days are getting longer, and the birds are coming back to the ranch . A big winter snowfall will give us tons of ground moisture to nourish our 60,000 acres of trails and pasture this spring. To celebrate we will have new horses, a new 2000 acre range, new trails, a new summer kids camp program, new activities, and some great new staff members.
 
But around here its not always about "new". It sounds like a cliche but we are working very hard to keep the ranch the same. This year we will reintroduce  cowboy cookouts and cowboy coffee on the trail just like in the 1930s. And we cant wait to show you some pretty interesting changes we made to the old saloon decor. So when you visit this season you will notice some old Flying U customs that we are bringing back this year.  You will also see some changes in the barn and our wrangling department. Our horses and our riding are after all the backbone of the business and we are working hard to keep our riding herd the best in Canada. 
 
Im very proud of the tradition of the Flying U and our great staff who understand and respect the heritage. So on behalf of Steve, Kim, Victoria, Leanne, Lorraine and the entire staff we look forward to seeing you back in 2018 for our best year ever!!

YEE HAW! THE BIGGEST NEWS YET! 




The ranch has acquired it's largest range use license yet! We now have the use of just over 2000 acres of grazing land in the Taylor Lake pasture for the herd to go out and relax on in the fall. For those who are still new to our trails, the Taylor Lake area is located North of the Flying U. This new grazing lease is just north of the Ranch. It's made up of forests, meadows and lakes. 

An Update On Our Herd

The Flying U herd has been enjoying some well deserved time off and have been keeping themselves busy out on our winter home pasture. Everyone is happy and healthy and getting excited to start up our new season. Spring is in the air and the horses are starting to kick up their heels in excitement as the snow slowly starts to melt. They will soon be brought in from the pasture to start getting ready for the arrival of our guests in April. 

We are working on expanding our herd this year and will be adding 8 new horses this year.

We are pleased to introduce our new kids horse to our herd, a 22 year old Morgan mare, Jessica. This lovely horse has spent most of her life working hard on another guest ranch doing day long trail rides. We are happy to have her join our herd as part of our children horse herd. Stay tuned, in the next 2 months we will be introducing the new horses as they arrive.

The "Marshall's Office" Is Now Available To Rent!


We are pleased to announce the addition of a new cabin at the Flying U. The Marshall's Office is located in the 100 year old building that was formally the Meadow School House. The cabin has been completely refinished and is centrally located on the main street of the ranch. This cabin comes with its own high speed internet which makes it ideal for the businessperson who wants to stay in touch while on vacation.
