Join us on Tuesday, February 27, for the first FYI Business Workshop of 2018.  This workshop is presented by Courtney Nicholson of 219 Media Consulting.

The question is no longer if one ought to be utilizing social media as a tool for marketing their business or organization, but how to best utilize social media to do so. Because social media platforms are consistently evolving with the intent to create a positive user experience, it is important to stay on the cutting edge of those changes to be able to leverage them to the best of your ability for the effective marketing of your business. In this workshop, we will address how and where to best allocate your time online to connect and engage with your audience, and focus on what digital trends your business needs to take into consideration to optimize your position in the market in 2018.

The Valpo Chamber Envision the Future Committee is planning the 2018 event for Porter County eighth-grade students. This annual program is scheduled for March 14, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Porter County Expo Center. Business volunteers are extremely important to this program. Volunteers will assist students as they learn how to live within their means while enjoying their chosen "career." Envision the Future is an opportunity for students to realize exactly how much money it will take to pay for housing, utilities, a vehicle, insurance, food, clothing, and childcare, while trying to have enough money leftover for the "extras" in life.

Contact  Kurt Gillins if you have any questions or want to volunteer.

Legislative Hotline 2014
The 2018 Legislative Hotline program got off to a great start on Friday, January 26.  Indiana State Senator Ed Charbonneau. and Indiana State Representative Ed Soliday were present  to discuss what is on the slate for this legislative session.

Everyone is invited to attend the remaining Legislative Hotline programs. These legislative briefings give members an opportunity to hear firsthand about legislation being proposed and enacted in Indianapolis.

Valpo Chamber Legislative Hotline events begin at 7:30 a.m. and are held at the Chamber office, located at 162 W Lincolnway.  These events are open to all chamber members at no cost.
