BANDLEADERS TAKE NOTE: Horn player and Local 802 member Steven Behnke recently signed an agreement that provides union wages and benefits to his musicians in the Patriot Brass Ensemble.

"There is no more affordable way to bring benefits to your musicians than being a signatory of the union ," Behnke writes in the latest issue of Allegro. "...The 802 healthcare plan is much better and way more affordable than anything we could get on our own...It is the best situation possible for bandleaders: it keeps our expenses predictable and manageable while our musicians receive high-quality healthcare."

LET US DO THE PAPERWORK FOR YOU! Let's say you get called to play a wedding, but you've never filed a contract with the union before. Local 802's payroll service LEGIT 802 will walk you through the contract and show you how to fill it out.

And here's the best part: when it comes time to pay your musicians, you simply write one check. Then we handle everything else: mailing the checks to the musicians, withholding taxes, mailing payments to the state and the feds, taking care of unemployment and workers' comp payments and paying union benefits and work dues. If one of your musicians later applies for unemployement, we handle that. If a musician has to file a workers' comp claim for the gig, we take care of it. We can handle weddings, club dates, recordings, classical...almost any kind of job.

Local 802's payroll service LEGIT 802 is another benefit of union membership. Call us for your next gig and leave the paperwork to us. For more information, click here, and select LEGIT 802 from the menu.
