Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Famous Last Words: "Unfinished Business"
For more years than I care to remember, every time I entered my wood shop, I had to walk past a stack of beautiful, expensive, #1 white oak boards. The story: once upon a time Id decided to build a new coffee table for the living room. Purchased the best kiln-dried wood I could find, marked the dimensions, made the initial cuts, then set it aside for, 'another day.' After 10 years of walking by those boards...after 10 years of wondering if and when I'd ever put it back on the bench, one morning I decided enough was enough. Much to my relief, a good friend with a wood stove ended my pain.
Jesus had only enough energy and air to speak a few final words while offering up his life for a world God so loves. The gospel writer John who was present at the foot of the cross in Jesus' final hours, remembered and recorded these words, "It is finished." Jesus' way of saying that all he'd come to be and say & do on behalf of the Father, was now completed. It is...was...finished.
How about us? We believe that God has crafted and called each one of us for a unique purpose in God's great plan, right? If that's the case, then what unique business is left - work that only you and I are capable of doing? Our preaching theme: "Unfinished Business."

Little Jammers - Mrs. Larson
Middle Jammers - Mrs. Wilson
Big Jammers - Mrs. Ebner
Bake Sale For Babies -
This Sunday!

Caleb Gillett is hosting a bake sale after church for his Grade 8, Serving Others project. The purpose of the fundraiser will be to purchase two brand new high chairs for the LW CafĂ©. Thanks in advance for supporting Caleb's mission project!
Sledding Derby -
This Sunday!
Ever built and raced a cardboard sled?  Guess what?  This is your chance!  After worship on Sunday, we gather inside Ruby's Garage for a wacky fun cardboard adventure.  With Ruby's Pantry the day before, there will be plenty of cardboard.  Here's what you can bring:  duct tape, string and garbage bags... and of course, a few friends! We'll be constructing sleds, have some lunch, then take turns racing them down the LW sledding hill. Contact Ike or Bryan for questions.
Wednesday Worship
There are tons of important ways we can prepare our hearts for Easter. At Living Water, one of the most intentional is our weekly community meal & worship. Every Wednesday we're served up a simple supper of soup & sandwiches, followed by Holden Evening Prayer in the Worship Center. This year we have a very special treat: weekly installments from a ficticious family as they struggle with the very real-life issues raised by Jesus and his ministry. Here's how it shakes out:
Soup & Sandwiches: 5:30-6:30pm
Worship: 6:30-7pm
Ruby's Pantry
This Saturday is our March Ruby's Pantry distribution. We are looking for some extra help with this one. If you are available from 7:30-10:30am, we would love to have you! We can find a job that you are comfortable with. We'll see you there!
New Bible Study Coming:
Run for God's 5K Challenge
Join us in the exciting, new small group for Run for God's 5K Challenge!  Run for God's 5K Challenge is a 12-week Bible study program that allows runners to combine faith and endurance training in a way that helps take people, even those who have never run, through their first 5K.  This group will be part Bible study and part training program. The primary goal is to learn to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ while understanding the parallels of enduring a sport like running and enduring your faith. Check out the sign up sheet on Clipboard Central, or contact Julie Emerson for more info!
LW JAM Easter Celebration
You are invited to a LW JAM Easter Celebration on Saturday, March 24th from 2-4pm. This event is open to o ur JAM kids and their families. We will have  crafts, games, snacks, and an Easter egg hunt! Please note that there will not be JAM on Easter Sunday. We will run a playgroup for our 2 year old-4K kids. The rest of the children will stay with their families during church on Easter.  Questions? Contact Christine Ebner  [email protected]  or 715-296-1890
Save Your UPC Codes
Luther Bible Camp is collecting "Our Family" brand UPC codes off grocery items.  Throughout 2018 any UPC codes you collect (we do not need the entire label, just the physical UPC code) will be sent to Luther Park and your donations will be turned into money for programs they do on Lake Chetek.  A collection container will be in the back of church.  Thank you for supporting this important resource for both children and adults.
A Mother's Passion: The Passion of Christ Through Mary's Eyes
Please join us for "A Mother's Passion:  The Passion of Christ Through Mary's Eyes".  This emotionally raw updated production of the Good Friday story, arranged by Janine Hansen (in loving memory of her son, Auhston Hansen 1983-2015), will be told through modern song and staging.   Performances will be held at Living Water Church on Wed, March 28 through Fri, March 30 at 7pm, with a dessert reception to follow each night.   Admission is free (with a free will offering to benefit family tragedies). Powerful new songs (and some new faces) will captivate your heart. Come lose yourself in this age-old story of Christ's journey to the Cross.
Crap
This past Tuesday evening we had a big surprise in the 411 Building:  water!  Thanks to the quick action of ministry partners Bill Kurshinsky, Janine Hansen, Mark Weiss & Mark Palma, the mess from our frozen sewer line was quickly cleaned up.  In the few weeks it may take the line to thaw, should you hear the tank alarm sounding (located a few feet NE of Ruby's Garage), please contact Mark Weiss of T.L. Sinz Plumbing immediately, at:  (715) 418-0772
Sound System Training - AV & Worship Teams Thursday, March 22
The evening of Thursday, March 22 from 5 to 8pm we're pulling together everyone who is part of LW's two Worship Teams along our new AV Team. The goal: spend the evening calibrating and training with the newly installed equipment. See you then!
TEXT-TO-GIVE
Church - good news!  We now are able to offer text-to-give.  Here's how it works:
Step I:   text LIVWATER to 206-859-9405
Step II:   you'll receive a reply with the link to your giving interface
Step III:   login and give immediately if you've already set up a Subsplash Giving account! If not, you can create their account in seconds!
Easter Photo Booth - Say Cheese!
Plan to bring in the family, grab a couple props and have some goofy fun, because Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, 3/24 and 4/1 the Living Water Photo Booth will be open. No cost, no sweat. We'd totally love to get your family's photo up on the LW family board. Openings: 1 hour before worship and 1 hour after. Say cheese!

Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Name: Darlene Kurshinsky
Something interesting about my household:
I spend my free time baking cookies for the senior center and Ruby's, and playing cards with friends at the senior center. I have been married to my husband Rick for almost fifty-one years.  I have three grown children (two of them also Living Water family) and six grandchildren (four in youth groups at Living Water).
How I became connected to Living Water:
The Methodist church in Cameron closed and I had been going there since I was a youngster.  I went to the Chetek Methodist Church but never really seemed comfortable there. Then Lynn Johnson invited me to come to Living Water and I really liked it so I kept going!
What I like about Living Water:
I like how everyone is so friendly and welcoming to new people.
