A cart of books is made available to the men who attend REST dinners on Sunday evenings at Westminster. Paperbacks are easier for them to carry, but smaller hardbacks also work. Camp Create

Camp Create
Camp Create is for any child in Southern Marin and beyond and it is our goal to have at least 12 campers from neighborhoods
such as Belvedere,Tiburon, Mill Valley, etc.

One family's story (2017)
A member of St Stephen's with small children recommended Camp Create to a friend, a mother of twins. Recommend is not exactly how it happened. Our member told her friend that she simply
must send her children.              This mother had never heard of Camp Create; there was no fancy advertising or fully loaded website like the many camps her children had attended in the past. She registered her sons, taking a huge leap of faith.
The boys loved the camp. The favorite of one was the music, dance and stories of West Africa. The other said his favorite was the visual arts class where he learned printmaking among other things. At the end of the week, the mother said that this was THE best camp her children had ever attended. She planned to enroll them again and volunteer. She said she was going to tell her friends about it.

This is the magic of the week.

2018 Camp Create: July 16 - 20

For campers entering 1 st through 5 th  grades
who are curious, like to try new things,
enjoy singing, music, storytelling, making art
and having fun.

From the Rector

W isdom is knowing what to do and when to do it. Timing is everything. And Jesus has his own timing, his own sense of God's work in him. In John's gospel, we see that something is happening, is lifting him up and drawing all people to him. We hear him express it in the lesson today. "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified."
Jesus zeros in on this Passover time and place because the authorities can expect him there and then. And they are right about that. Jesus must die not on Groundhog Day or the Winter Solstice but during the festival of death out of life and life out of death. The forces that oppose God and undermine the teaching that makes him known are to be confronted and defeated. When the Gentiles approach the disciples and ask to see Jesus, Jesus announces that  the hour has come. By his death new life, new growth, new fruit blossoms forth.
     See you in church ,

     Fr Ellsworth
