Inexpensive Policies That Can Supplement Your ACA Or Short-Term Policy With Cash Payments
We now offer four inexpensive programs that can be used to pay for items that are (or may not be) covered in your present health policy--and even pay for items otherwise paid by your present policy. Payments are IN ADDITION to those received under your ACA or short-term policy..
  • Accident Fixed Benefits - a plan paying cash benefits to help pay for unexpected out-of-pocket costs associated with accidents.
  • Critical Illness-Term Life - a plan that helps you reduce the financial impact of a critical illness on your family and your future.
  • Dental Fixed Indemnity - get cash payment to help you pay for dental expenses with any dentist.
  • Hospital Expense Protection -stay one step ahead with set, cash benefits to help you pay for medical expenses in and out of the hospital
Premiums for these programs are considerably less expensive than those for what people commonly call "AFLAC" programs. Please call us at 877-734-3884 for quotes and an explanation how these plans (and other supplementary programs) work.
Weight Control And Complementary Health Approaches
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) published these guidelines for weight control on January 24.

Did you know that more than two-thirds of adults and one-third of children in the United States weigh more than they should?

Healthy eating and regular physical activity are the keys to keeping weight under control. But people sometimes ask whether complementary health approaches might give them some extra help. For some mind and body approaches, the answer may be yes. For example, research indicates that yoga and meditation may be useful as complements to other weight-loss interventions.

On the other hand, dietary supplements, such as green tea extracts, Chinese herbs, and bitter orange, have not been shown to be effective for weight loss, and they may have side effects. In addition, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has found that some weight-loss products sold as dietary supplements are tainted with hidden and potentially harmful substances, such as prescription drug ingredients.

If you're planning to shed some pounds, it's a good idea to talk with your health care provider about developing a weight-loss plan that's safe and effective for you.

What Kind Of A Health Policy Can I Buy Before 2019 Open Enrollment Begins (Presently Scheduled To Begin November 1)?
Open enrollment for Obamacare has ended and the only way an individual can buy an Obamacare plan is if he or she has a qualifying life event. Those who have had coverage within the preceding 60 days can qualify for these types of situations: moving from outside the present service area; divorce; marriage; losing Medicare or CHIP coverage; and loss of group coverage. In addition, individuals can qualify because of birth or adoption of a child and, in many cases, marriage.

If an individual does not have a qualifying life event, there are still options available.

First, an individual can buy a short-term policy. A series of 90 day short-term policies can cover an individual until the next open enrollment period. Premiums are usually less expensive than they are for an ACA policy, but these policies are NOT exempt from the penalty for not having insurance. This penalty is in effect for 2018 but has been eliminated starting in 2019. Even when the penalty is considered part of the "premium" these policies can be considerably less expensive for most people. Individuals must answer health questions to qualify for one of these policies.

Another possibility is to buy a health care or medical cost sharing policy--either as a single person who joins MPowering Benefits, LLC as a "contractor" and qualifies to receive a 1099 or on a group basis for companies between 2 and 50 employees. You can learn more about how these types of plans work by going to www.controlyourhealthcarecosts.com . Prices and plan design varies slightly for groups of two or more employees but the general concept is explained in the referenced website. Please call us at 877-734-3884 for additional details.
