Young Alumnae Share Their College Knowledge With Seniors

Twenty-eight alumnae from the Classes of C'14-C'17 returned to SCA for a Young Alum brunch with the seniors on January 12, 2018.  Table conversation focused on their college experiences with plenty of time for Q & A. The returning alum also had a chance to reconnect with each other and tour the school.

Victoria Valeriano '18 Named Scholar Athlete of the Week
Victoria Valeriano '18, a basketball and volleyball player, was named a News 12 Scholar Athlete. Playing both center and forward, Victoria took the court in 6th grade at St. Luke School and has been on the SCA varsity since she was a freshman.

SCA Students Participate in StArt 2018 Art Exhibition
Three SCA students were among the approximately 90 high school students who had their work exhibited at the StArt 2018 Regional High School Art Exhibition at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. Thirty-one private and public high schools from the Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Fairfield Counties participated in the exhibition. Goals of the exhibition are to give high school students an opportunity to showcase their work in a professional gallery and to build their credentials and portfolios for college. Students from St. Catharine Academy who participated are seniors Jaida-Lee Colley, Kaila Cordova, and Taryn Figueroa.

Robotics Team Earns Slot at States
The Robotics Team won the prestigious Design Award at Adelphi University's competition qualifying them for the New York State competition. They ranked second place for the day! 

In an earlier competition, they won the Innovate Award at Vaughn College. The team was recognized for   "thinking outside of the box."
