March 14, 2018
Dear St. Patrick's family,

I hope this message finds you well and I pray this Lenten season has been one of reflection and growth for you. As you know, St. Patrick's Day is this week; Saturday, March 17th. This means we are celebrating our 61st year as a church community in Zachary. If you will recall, last year, we observed the feast for St. Patrick the Sunday nearest March 17th. Which, meant that we observed our patron saint's feast during Lent. This year we are going to try something different.

In the Prayer Book (p.16), the rubrics allow for a church to move the observation of its patron saint's day to any Sunday season except: Advent, Lent, and Easter.

"The feast of the Dedication of a Church, and the feast of its patron or title, may be observed on, or be transferred to, a Sunday, except in the seasons of Advent, Lent, and Easter."

This year we are going to observe the feast of St. Patrick after Pentecost. My hope is that we can observe our patron saint's day, not only with a Eucharist but with a party and festivities for the whole family. Once we finalize the date and time, we will make the it known to all. In the meantime, if you are interested in assisting with planning of the festivities please let me or Jessica know. Thank you all for your continued work and ministry. I look forward to celebrating St. Patrick's Day with you this year and our continued life together.

Peace & Blessings,
Fr. Ashley Freeman+

 What's Happening Now...
TEACHER OF THE WEEK

Hi!  My name is Jenee Galjour.  My family and I moved to Zachary from Baton Rouge in October 2016.  I am happily married with two sons, one of whom attends St. Patrick's.  I have been working here as an aide for about a month and enjoy it immensely.  I like interacting with the kids at each age, and it is exciting to see them grow.  I have also enjoyed getting to know all the teachers and parents in the community.
