Dear Parents,

On March 17, the Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints.  When Patrick was a young man, he was kidnapped from his native country by pirates from Ireland and enslaved there. Patrick eventually escaped his captivity and returned to his native land.

According to his Confessions, after Patrick returned to his homeland, he experienced a recurring dream in which the children of Ireland summoned him to return. He did, bringing Christianity to the pagan Druids and teaching them the Christian faith through simple, yet profound, methods. One of the methods being that of using a shamrock to teach the people about the Blessed Trinity.

The people of Ireland eventually accepted the teachings of Christ and converted to Christianity. Years later, the Irish were instrumental in spreading the Christian faith throughout the world.

Quote from Pope Francis:

"When we allow Jesus to enter our lives we discover the secret to keeping alive the flame of our spiritual life."

Faithfully yours,

Miss Giaquinto

Prayer of St. Patrick

News From The Nurse

Dear Parents,

As the weather has warmed up and we are enjoying the nice break from the cold, please remember that Winter is not over yet. There is a variety of illnesses circulating in our school and local community.

There has been a gastro-intestinal virus that has affected many students and it lasts for several days. In addition, influenza or "FLU" activity remains high and widespread in Connecticut, per CT Department of Public Health.

Please follow the Sick Policy guidelines that was sent home to prevent the spread of infection and illness at school.

Please report all absences to me at (203) 377-7041 or email: [email protected]

Tips to Stay Healthy:
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap & water or use Purell/hand sanitizer.
  • If your child is sick, keep him/her home from school.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • DO NOT share food or drinks with others.
  • Stay away from people who are sick.
Reminder ~ Nut-Free Zone: Please remember that all class rooms are Nut-Free Zones. Please Do Not send in any foods that contain NUTS or processed in a facility with nuts.  If your child eats foods prior to school that contain nuts, please have them wash their hands, face and brush teeth/rinse mouth prior to arrival.
