St. Rose is a fully accredited school. We are accredited by two agencies - - The Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association. We were slated for a full accreditation visit this month. However, because of the October fires we were granted a year's extension. Since we modified the 2017-18 school calendar, eliminating all of our teacher inservice days in order to provide more academic days, the faculty and I will wait until August to take up the completion of our self-study. This will prepare us for a March of 2019 visit.

 

Due to the necessity of spending part of the school year on temporary campuses, St. Rose and Cardinal Newman High School will have a "substantive change" visit from representatives of both accreditation agencies. Today, a two-person visiting committee spent the morning at Cardinal Newman and the afternoon at St. Rose. The committee toured the school and visited with our faculty and students. You would be proud of your children, who exhibited their best behavior and manners, and talked enthusiastically about what they are learning in school.

 

Yesterday, the students in Grades Three through Eight had the opportunity to experience the Sacrament of Reconciliation at school. I hope you will ask your child about it. There are only two more weeks of Lent until the holiest time of the church year, the Easter Triduum. Lent is almost over and a well-deserved vacation awaits our faculty, staff, and students.
