Eastern Sierra Land Trust

Are you feeling as mixed up as I am these days? One day it's sunny and outside my window the birds are singing in chorus; and the next, the mountains are shrouded in dark clouds, their peaks covered in snow.

I hope that you, like me, are finding ways to get outside and enjoy all the wonders that nature has to offer us. For all of you in the Bay Area, that's one of the reasons that we are traveling to your neck of the woods to host a hike with John Muir Laws on May 6th in Fremont, CA. John is a highly acclaimed naturalist, artist, and educator who has dedicated his work to connecting people to nature through art and science. As we wander through Coyote Hills, he will reflect on his experiences and work in the Bay Area and the Eastern Sierra, highlighting the urgency of conserving these very special places.

As life speeds up and spring begins to stretch her wings, I hope you can all find stillness and peace in the magic of the changing seasons.

With gratitude,
Kay Ogden,  Executive Director
Protected Forever: Sceirine Point Ranch
Thanks to supporters like you, more of beautiful Bridgeport Valley is now conserved for the future.

Sceirine Point Ranch is a beautiful working ranch that benefits our local economy and provides an important home for wildlife like mule deer and sage-grouse. Now that it's protected with a conservation easement, it will continue this way... forever.

At 2,375 acres, this is the largest conservation project that ESLT has ever completed. It's a big win for local conservation - and thanks to supporters like you, our funding partners, and the long-term vision of ranchers Joe and David Sceirine, this special place is now protected for generations to come.

Bring Your Garden To Life
Help keep the Eastern Sierra blooming by creating a haven for pollinators, right in your backyard.

If you're like most people, you probably can't imagine a world without fruits, vegetables, wildflowers, and other flowering plants. However, you may be surprised to hear that these are now at risk - and that's because butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators are threatened by habitat loss.

Good news, though: there's a way you can help! Join ESLT's Eastside Pollinator Garden Project, and we'll help you turn your yard into a blooming haven for the birds and insects that keep the Eastern Sierra beautiful and productive.
