Thank You!

Greetings!

We hope that you’re doing well. It’s hard to believe we’re already into the final week of January! As we move through the winter season, we’re pleased to provide you with the February 2018 issue of the Hot SHEET newsletter .

We thank everyone who donated to the Us TOO Holiday Hope campaign to generate funding for the educational resources and support services provided by Us TOO at no charge. We greatly appreciate the support. In addition, we extend special thanks to support group leaders and others in the community who shared a quote or story of hope for the Holiday Hope campaign.

There are more than 200 Us TOO prostate cancer support groups across the country. Find a support group near you. Interested in starting a new Us TOO support group? Watch videos from support group leaders who explain the “Give & Get” of volunteering to lead a support group.

Us TOO is launching a support group conference call for the women behind the men affected by prostate cancer. Because prostate cancer is a couple's disease, the woman is often subject to her own concerns in addition to those she shares with her partner. A Forum for Her will be a regular call series providing peer-to-peer support to address specific challenges exclusive to wives and female partners of men affected by prostate cancer. The first call will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 12:00 pm Central. We've reached the maximum number of callers for the first call. But we invite women t o register for a future call by contacting Terri Likowski at terril@ustoo.org.

Additional support group calls for the prostate cancer community are held several times each month through Answer Cancer Foundation . Calls focus on addressing prostate cancer topics specific to Low/Intermediate Risk Men & Caregivers and High Risk/Recurrent/Advanced Men and Caregivers.

Us TOO recently launched a partnership with Imerman Angels   to provide another opportunity for peer-to-peer support services to the prostate cancer community. We will continue to provide the toll-free Us TOO Prostate Cancer HelpLine 1-800-808-7866 (1-800-80-US-TOO) to answer questions and connect callers to response team volunteers who had a similar treatment or side effect. In addition, prostate cancer survivors can register for the free services from Imerman Angels with support from experienced “Mentor Angels” selected based on criteria that includes age, gender, lifestyle, and cancer experience.

PCRI recently launched the Prostate Cancer Staging Guide . Patient responses to a short quiz generate educational content specific to one of five major prostate cancer categories that correlates to a survivor’s stage.

We also encourage you to check out Cancer.com – a new online resource from Janssen Oncology that features information tailored to each visitor based on cancer type (including prostate cancer) and the various points in the cancer journey. It offers an exclusive digital health coaching tool developed by Johnson & Johnson behavior scientists that aims to pave a path to better health outcomes.

The Us TOO Prostate Cancer Clinical Trial Finder  simplifies the process of identifying clinical trials by matching a patient’s profile with relevant clinical trials at no charge. Patient information can be entered online or on the phone by calling a toll-free number to talk with clinical trial navigators who speak English or Spanish!  Visit the Us TOO clinical trial web page , which includes more information and a link to The Us TOO Prostate Cancer Clinical Trial Finder.

Take care, stay warm and let us know how we can help you with educational resources, support services and personal connections to others in the prostate cancer community.

All the best,
