Walk or Ride FAR; Register for Wall Street Rides FAR

Be sure to register for Wall Street Rides FAR (For Autism Research)!  For the first time, ASF's annual cycling event will include a 5K walk!  Everyone can participate!  Come out with your family and friends to support ASF-funded research and enjoy the fall foliage in beautiful Westchester County on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Apply for Accelerator Grants!

2018 Research Accelerator Grants
Applications Due: April 3, 2018
Notification of Awards: June, 2018

ASF  invites applications for its Research Accelerator Grants.  These grants are designed to expand the scope, speed the progress, increase the efficiency and/or improve final product dissemination of active autism research grants. 

Grants of up to $5000 are available to enhance, expand and enrich grants currently funded by other sources (including ASF).  Staff salary may be covered by this award.

The Autism Information Database
An Online Portal to Autism Resources

Parents and community members looking for evidence-based information to help them tackle specific issues, from toilet training to medications, now have a free online service that uses a family-friendly keyword search.  The Autism Information Database (AID) has been developed by Canadian not-for-profit, ACT - Autism Community Training.  ACT pre-screens links to reputable online resources from around the world so individuals can find reliable online information and training resources in multiple languages on the AID.

"In our parent information and support work, the most difficult calls we receive are from families who have wasted precious time and money on bogus treatment that they discovered via a random internet search," explains Deborah Pugh, Executive Director of ACT, "We developed the AID to help families become informed consumers and to access the great resources that already exist but may be buried on a university or community agency website."

The AID International Advisory Panel provides oversight for this project. ACT welcomes suggestions for new resources.  These can be submitted online.
