ASHARQIA ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL - SAUDI ARABIA
The Pyramid Society was well represented at the recent Asharqia Arabian Horse Festival in Saudi Arabia. The Festival featured the Arabian horse and its unique legacy within the Kingdom. Held under the generous patronage of HRH Prince Saud Bin Naif Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province, the event celebrated the legacy of the Arabian horse through competitive venues as well as cultural, historical, art and educational elements.

CONGRATULATIONS TO UMM ALUDHAM STUD OF QATAR!
Deema Al Nasser (Fares Al Rayyan X Dalal Al Nasser) has become the Gold Champion Senior Mare in the 2018 Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners. As the Gold Champion Senior Mare in 2017 and the Gold Champion Filly in 2016--this is her third year in a row for winning top honors in Qatar.

IN MEMORIAM: HANSI HECK-MELNYK, 1931-2018
The Pyramid Society expresses deepest sympathy to the family of long-time Arabian breeder Hansi Heck-Melnyk who sadly,
passed away

n January 14, 2018
at her home in Hawthorn, Florida.
Widely known for her famous Serenity Arabian Farms, Hansi was an accomplished breeder, trainer, researcher, author and competitor,
but her heart belonged to Straight Egyptians.

IN MEMORIUM: LENITA PERROY, 1937-2018
Lenita Perroy, Brazilian breeder and judge sadly passed away January 16th. Her childhood dreams took hold when she acquired Haras Meia Lua in 1981. Soon thereafter she purchased several Nazeer bred mares as well as the well known stallion, Ali Jamaal and went on to stake her claim in history as an artistic breeder of Arabian horses for over 35 years.

IN TRIBUTE TO THEE OUTLAW
The 2018 Egyptian Event won't be the same without the legendary Thee Outlaw (Thee Desperado x Imasar), who sadly has recently passed away. A magnificent ambassador for the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse, Thee Outlaw and rider Warner Waite have dazzled the crowd in full costume as flag bearers at every Egyptian Event since 1995, with the exception of one. He's made history and won the hearts of many who will forever remember him as the strong and regal stallion who represented the breed so well.

NEW RIDERS FOR BARMYRE SADEEK AND THE QUIET MAN KARIIM
Cindy Jewart is proud to announce the sale of geldings, Barmyre Sadeek and The Quiet Man Kariim. Kariim was sold to a youth, 8 year old, Sophia Winlack, who plans to compete in open, and Arabian shows. Ava, age 12 and the new owner of Sadeek are already a winning combination. Both riders will remain under the guidance of Whoa Nellie, and Trainer Cindy Jewart.
