First Quarter has Come and Gone
In spite of all of the craziness that is currently surrounding us, we have actually completed one quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. This is an accomplishment to be celebrated, nice work everyone!!

We remain in the hybrid model at RAHS as we begin 2nd quarter classes. Along with our first ever virtual parent/teacher conferences, we have a nice little fall break during the first week of November. We have asked the teachers to forgo any virtual assignments while the students are not in attendance on the 4th, 5th and 6th. We hope you have a chance to connect with your child’s teachers on the 5th, either by phone, email or Google Meets.

For those of you who are interested in such things, we have two school board meetings in November, on the 4th and 16th.

We have added a COVID-19 dashboard to the district website for those wanting to see the latest information about the number of cases, quarantines, etc.

We have also added a mental health webpage with information for those looking for help with mental health issues. We certainly recognize that there are people who are struggling with this situation brought on by the virus, and we want to do all we can to help.

After careful consideration, and conversation with the local VFW organizations, we have decided to cancel the annual Veterans Day program at RAHS for this year.

We will have a Thanksgiving break, with no school, on the 25th, 26th, and 27th.

As we enter the winter season and undoubtedly have inclement weather, be aware that we will not be having snow days anymore. We will have virtual classes on those days. We will use the Google Classroom format and deliver lessons to students at their remote locations. This being the case, it is important for students to remember to take their Chromebooks home with them every day after school.

Take care, be safe, stay healthy and have a great November!

Rob Taylor, Principal

Virtual Learning Offered During Inclement Weather Days
The School District of Reedsburg will hold virtual learning on days that would otherwise be lost to school closure (ie. inclement weather), which should eliminate the need to make up lost instructional hours later in the school year. COVID-19 has accelerated the district into fully accommodating virtual learning at all grade levels.

Teachers have prepared online lessons and assignments for inclement weather days when needing to pivot to a virtual learning model. On the morning of a ‘Snow Day’, please check for an email or message in Google Classroom from your child’s teacher for the virtual day classroom instructions. Teachers will be available online during the course of the virtual day.

Please note: If your child is in the 100% Virtual Learning model, their day will go on as normally planned.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school or teacher.
These Students Shine!
