Employment Diversity in Highway Construction (EDHC)
Take-Offs and Estimating - Hannaford Career Center

March 26 - April 9, Mondays 4:30-6:30pm in Middlebury.
  • Learn about available tools for estimating including the Construction Master, vendor apps, and others.
  • Develop good estimating skills including consistency and documentation.
  • Create an accurate estimate quickly.
  • Learn how to avoid the common mistakes in estimating and quantity takeoffs.

Woodworking

Yestermorrow Design/Build School (Waitsfield): Intro to the Woodshop, March 24 - 25, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Click here for course description

ArcGIS - Vermont Tech

Intro to GIS: April 2-4,  8:30am-4:00pm in Randolph
This three day training covers the fundamentals of ESRI's ArcMap and ArcCatalog applications, which will cover the collection, creation, manipulation, and display of spatial data in ArcGIS. Click here for course description

ArcGIS Online and Mobile Mapping: April 5-6, 8:30am-4:00pm in Randolph
The use of web maps is becoming almost ubiquitous in the modern workforce. This two day training covers the creation and use of web maps and web mapping applications in the ArcGIS Online web mapping environment. Click here for course description

Welding Courses

Center for Technology, Essex: Intermediate Basic Welding, Five Mondays from 4:30-8:30pm beginning April 23rd. 

Green Mountain Technology and Center (Hyde Park): Project Welding, Four weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30pm starting April 24th.
   
Hartford Area Career & Technology Center: Introduction to Welding, Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00pm, April 25th-May 21st
 
Stafford Technical Center (Rutland): Practicum in Advanced Welding Processes: Mondays and Tuesdays, April 16 - May 15, 5:30-8:30pm
 
Vermont Technical College (Randolph): Welding 102 - Beyond Basics, April 7th and 8th, 9am - 4pm

  • April 19th, 8:00am - 12:00pm in Montpelier
May 21st, 8:00am - 12:00pm in Montpelier

This half-day course meets the OSHA First Aid Standard requirement to have trained first-aid providers at all workplaces of any size if there is no infirmary, clinic or hospital new the proximity of the workplace.

Montpelier courses:

CDL Training

We offer funding (up to $1,500) for women and minorities interested in pursuing their Commercial Drivers License. Training is offered through the six state-approved Commercial Driver Training Schools. Applicants must be 18 years old and have a valid, Vermont drivers license.
