Celebrate the Reach of Rummage
Information Fair

Representatives of many of the over fifty agencies that we support with Benevolence Grants will be present to worship with us at the 9:30AM service this Sunday. Last year we gave out over $200,000 which represents the proceeds of our Rummage ministry. After the service please join us in the McClain and Lea Rooms to learn more about each agency as you meander through the informative displays. This bi-annual event brings Rummage full circle. Rummage raises the money. Benevolence gives it away. Come learn about the wide, deep reach of Rummage.

Genesis Matters:
Five Moments in Genesis that Anticipate
Jesus Christ and Why Every Christian Should Know Them

TONIGHT - March 15
"Joseph Part 1"
Joseph is the favorite son of Jacob, who has eleven other sons. This presents problems for both Jacob and Joseph. The brothers of Joseph are resentful of his favored status and they seek to punish both father and son. Their plot lands Joseph in a pit to die, then in captivity, then in a critical role in Egyptian government, then in hot water again after dealing with Pharaoh's wife. Come and see how Joseph sinks before he rises, as Jesus sinks into his tomb before rising on Easter Day.

Bike Trip
For 22 summers, Christopher has led a church sponsored bike trip through Vermont.  This year, we are gauging interest in a trip August 4-11.  We will ride about 55 miles a day from Sunday through Saturday, staying in Episcopal Churches along the way.  Cost is $1,100 inclusive of everything (including transporting your bike and gear) except travel to Albany, NY.  We will need 16 riders to make the trip possible.  If you're interested, email Christopher here.
Invitation to Join March for Our Lives on March 24
On  Saturday, March 24 , on the eve of Holy Week, Episcopalians near and far will join in March for Our Lives events, led by families from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. A group from Christ Church will walk together with Bishop Lee and scores of other churches in the downtown Chicago event. Please join us by meeting at the parking lot behind 470 Maple Street at 9:15AM on the 24th! We'll carpool from there, to meet up with the bishop and other Episcopalians marching (exact location TBD).  Email Charlotte to let us know you're coming, and if you can drive, or need a ride. If you can't make it but wish to offer support from afar, consider sponsoring a Chicago area church member traveling to the  D.C. march through the gift of a $100 bus ticket.
2040 Vision Committee Update
Christ Church has always had the spirit and focus to meet any challenges or service opportunity. We do it best by planning and thinking ahead. Our continued vitality is no different.  The 2040 Vision Committee was created to discuss the critical question of; "What do we have to do to encourage vitality at Christ Church in 2040?"... click here to continue.

Peer Ministry Training for grades 7-12
Sunday, March 18 - Peer Ministry has a special class this Sunday for our 7th through
12th graders.  In light of the recent school shooting in Florida, this week's nationwide "Walk Out", New Trier lockdown drills, and the upcoming "March For Our Lives" on March 24th in Union Park, we have an opportunity to put our Peer Ministry learnings to the test.  We will be asking: "How do you feel?  How do your friends feel?  How are you supporting each other as friends?"  In Peer Ministry, we have been practicing how to be open to discussing different perspectives, being respectful of different points of view, we are good listeners, we know our values, and we are not judgmental.  Our goal is to learn how to have crucial conversations with respect and empathy.  As an optional activity, for those who are interested, students can make posters for the March for Our Lives event on March 24th-these can be posters that they will carry themselves, or posters that they can give to someone else who may be walking.
