Town Meeting and Crossover
The legislature is back in Montpelier this week after a weeklong Town Meeting break. During that time, I had the opportunity to attend my local Town Meeting and make the motion to support the appropriation of town funds to help our local home health agency bring services to the people of Middlesex. A community member who serves on the board of the local agency did a terrific job speaking on behalf of the organization and the motion passed easily. All of the VNAs of Vermont agencies are deeply grateful for the support of towns across Vermont. Check out our
In the News section for an op-ed I wrote in honor of Town Meeting Day about the importance of home health in our communities.
Back in Montpelier this week, policymakers will be finishing up work on policy bills on the floors of the House and Senate. The House Appropriations Committee will prepare a budget bill for a vote on the House floor next week. This is a good juncture to report on the status of every policy bill that impacts home health agencies in our annual
crossover report. While some bills may be adjusted by amendment on the floor, major surprises are unlikely. If there are any significant changes, we'll let you know in our next newsletter.
