Stephanie will begin with Sun Salutations, stretching, and a light flow combined with breathing technique, followed by a relaxing savasana .  You'll leave class fresh and rejuvenated to begin your day.

Join us for a relaxing, evening meditation as we gather as a group to create balance at the mid-point of each week.  This casual guided meditation uses a variety of simple, mindfulness meditation techniques which will vary weekly.  

Regardless of the meditation styles used, the intent is always simply to help you relax and quiet the mind so that you may let go into a state of peace and equanimity, and just be HAPPY!  Meditation helps us to de-stress while fostering relaxation, self-awareness, focus, creativity and clarity of our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual state.

Kick your traditional Yoga practice up a notch as PiYo incorporates unique poses and repetition that works varying muscle groups beyond  those of many traditional Yoga poses.

Celebrate the  January Full Moon  in the New Year with a powerful, creative Native American drumming and meditation session led by  Chuck McNabb, gifted Intuitive & Spiritual Advisor.   Native American drums and rattles of various shapes and sizes will be provided, and feel free to bring your own instruments.

The drum circle embraces people of all ages and no prior drumming or meditation experience is necessary. 

Indigenous peoples of the world have for millennia gathered under the light of the Full Moon to dance and make music.  The beat of the drums brings us in tune with the rhythms of nature to evoke and raise powerful currents of life energy. 

As participants relax, enjoy and explore the music, their natural creativity and curiosity emerges and the rhythms grow and change.  Each person is able to express themselves through their individual instrument while simultaneously participating as part of a larger whole for a therapeutic experience - a new voice, a collective voice, emerges as we drum together and just have fun!

Foam rolling has been used by professional athletes, coaches and therapists as one of the best advances in exercise and rehab and is a beneficial everyday practice for people at all levels of fitness to help restore your body to maintain a flexible, active and pain-free lifestyle.
 
In this workshop, Stephanie will teach you how to safely and effectively target all the major muscle/fascia groups in the body from head to toe.  Specific foam roller sequences will target common trouble spots from your neck and shoulders, to lower back and hips, all the way down to legs and toes.  Roll away tension, stress and congestion and improve alignment and suppleness in your body!  

This workshop can benefit yogis, runners, gym goers and athletes looking for a restorative complement to your workout regimen . Benefits of foam rolling include :

Yoga Nidra  is a practice that's easy to follow and everyone of all ages can do.  Simply lie down on the floor in savasana (corpse pose ) and follow Yvonne's voice as she guides you.  The art of self-care is approached from a therapeutic standpoint, creating a restorative environment for the mind, releasing anxiety and actually nourishing and rejuvenating the individual. The stages of body scan and breath awareness calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.

Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) exercises are based on Donald Ep stein's book "The 12 Stages Of Healing" and are designed to help the brain to reconnect with the body and its experience.  The goal of SRI is to help an individual develop lifetime skills, safety, strength, wisdom and love in relationship to the experience of his/her body, its vibration, structure, and
energy.

In this full immersion workshop, participants will directly experience the power and wisdom of all 9 of the following Sacred Seasons: Discovery (stages 1-3), Transform (stages 4-7), and the initial stages of Awaken  (stages 8 & 9).  Each season brings with it its own richness of personal growth and development:
  • In Discover (Stages 1-3), we learn the ways in which we have dissociated or have moved away from different sources of pain.  We experience the continuum between disconnection and connection and discover the bio (life force) and emotional energies that act as resources for greater connection.  In this season, we can discover how peace and even joy can come from the awareness of how we have run from pain and fear, blamed, judged things, events, and people for our experiences.
  • In Transform (Stages 4-7), life is about transforming our rules, beliefs, and maps of our life and relationships to reach or exceed our targets.  We take conscious action with courage, strength, determination, and self-assurance to create the necessary changes in the moment.  Transform involves focused and directed use of the mind to harness emotional and life energies.  It is ultimately a season of empowerment, progress, and feeling victorious.
  • In Awaken (Stages 8-12), we expand our ability to compassionately experience the world, perceive joy, passion, gratitude, love, while feeling inspired to offer our gifts to community. There is a natural and effortless "being-ness" that permeates through our thoughts, feelings, and actions in daily life.

Shamanic Rites of The Munay-Ki

Shamanism  is an ancient healing tradition over 40,000 years old. Shamanic teachings focus on our connection to nature and all of creation.   Shamanism involves  working with transcendental energies in the physical and spiritual world  to  heal and balance in this world

The   Munay -Ki are a series of  nine  Empowerment  Rites   of Awakening passed  down from the ancient Shamans of Peru.   " Munay " means "love and will" together with " ki " from the Japanese word for energy, combine to give the meaning:   Energy of Love. 

Shaman  Joe will educate the group about the  "Great Rites  of  Enlightenment" of the  Munay -Ki and perform  the  nine Rites  for each participant amongst  the support of the group.   Receiving these deep healing Rites  is a very uplifting and personal experience to help you realize your sacred  space, illuminate your spirit, open your heart, and align with your highest Self.   This powerful transformation will take place over two separate sessions. 

$90  cost includes attendance at both  April/June sessions  and all workshop materials, including a DVD and a Pi Stone selected especially for you .

  • Open to everyone.  To participate, all you need to do is maintain a regular Yoga practice at UpDog for 21 days in a row by taking any of our Yoga classes once a day, everyday for 3 weeks.  
  • You can start your 21 days at any time.  Just let us know at the Front Desk whenever you're ready to start, and we'll keep track for you based on your daily class sign-ins.  
  • If you do miss a day, you can make it up by taking two classes the next day.  
  • If you rise to the challenge and complete all 21 days, you'll reap the benefits of better health AND your next month of Unlimited Yoga at UpDog is FREE!
