Your Weekly School Update
January 26, 2018
This week's adventures...
Our week was highlighted by the tremendous amount of support generated by our Fun Run initiative! The pep rally that took place on Monday unleashed an excitement and enthusiasm beyond measure! Our students were thrilled with the prospect of the Glow Stick Fun Run, the process of gathering pledges, the participation in the Castle Quest, and the offering of incentives and prizes! I think many of us were surprised with how quickly the pledges began to accumulate and the impressive response by families and friends to contribute to our fundraising efforts. The outpouring of love and support for our school is at times completely overwhelming, and I am continuously amazed by the generosity that is willingly displayed by our school families. It is evident that not only will our students have easily raised the funds necessary to purchase 30 additional chrome books, but will also be able to begin the fundraising efforts for a much needed new playground project. THANK YOU!

In addition to the Fun Run, there will be numerous opportunities to celebrate our school next week during CSW 2018. Please pay close attention to the hard copy schedule sent home in Friday folders that outlines the events and dress code for the week. Parents are welcome to join us for any and all of the scheduled assemblies and special events. I am hoping to see many of our students this weekend at Mass (in uniform of course) to kick off Catholic Schools Week! Also on Sunday we will open our school doors to potential new families and welcome them into the fold, as we open our enrollment to new families. As of today, we have received reregistration forms from only 163 of our current students! Clearly, this number is far fewer than our current enrollment and certainly not enough to sustain our school.... please register soon to secure your child's spot for next school year at St. Francis.

Looking forward to celebrating the gift of our Catholic School with all of you next week!
God bless and have a wonderful weekend!
~Mrs. Russo

Fly on the Wall...heard from the hall!
As you know the SFX Fun Run Fundraiser has brought to existence numerous incentives and challenges. One motivator in particular involves the administrative team working on the roof for a day. This idea has caused quite a bit of confusion with the youngest members of our school family. Variations of this conversation were heard in the hallway throughout the week.
Student: "Mom....did you know that if we get pledges from 25 states that Mrs. Russo and Mrs. Shaughnessy are going to work on the roof? Do we need a new roof? What kind of work does our roof need?"
