Press Release - Embassy of India Celebrates Republic Day 2018

The 69th Republic Day of India was celebrated in Washington DC today on January 26, 2018 at Embassy premises. Ambassador Navtej Sarna paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in front of the Embassy. Thereafter the Ambassador unfurled the National Flag and the National Anthem was sung. Ambassador addressed the gathering and read out the Address of the Hon'ble President to the nation. This was followed by singing of patriotic songs by young Indian Americans. Over 200 members of the Indian American community attended the celebrations.
