FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM BROKEN

Despite the barrage of media coverage about the  massive figure of $42 billion dollars in losses that have been offloaded to American taxpayers by  the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) following one of the most destructive hurricane seasons in recent memory, and calls for its reform,  the U.S. Senate  has once again  rejected common sense legislation proposed by the House of Representatives, resulting in another  temporary reauthoriz ation of  the  failing  NFIP.   Read more
OHIO'S BUREAU OF WORKERS COMP - OTHER STATES COVERAGE  - SECOND CHANCE - 3/1/2018 

On December 20, 2018 The CIB offered a course discussing Ohio's BWC Other States Coverage. It was an extremely informative class that all agents should attend. When a company's employees temporarily leave the state of Ohio in the course of their work, are they are covered? This course will discuss what is covered, excluded and how coverage can be obtained. Supreme Court of Ohio Rules About Punitive Damages
   
The Supreme Court of Ohio issued their favorable decision in the long-awaited Nationwide v. Lucarell (2018-Ohio-15).  Recall that this case involved decisions in the lower courts in Mahoning County granting punitive damages on contracts, a misapplication of the prevention of performance doctrine, as well as other substantial deviations from long-standing contract law.  Read more
