Elementary-Secondary Gaga ball Tournament

Secondary students invited elementary students to campus Friday afternoon for a Gaga ball tournament and playground games. The Gaga ball "pit" was donate to the school a couple summers ago through an eagle scout project; since then, gaga ball has been a favored sport for recess and lunch across the grades. The tournament began with the K5-2 students own game, then a multiple round tournament for the older grades.While the older students competed, K5-2 students played tag on the playground, and parents enjoyed fellowship time.

BOXTOP Spring Deadline
The spring deadline for BOXTOPS for Education is just over a month away. Be sure to clip BOXTOPS from your groceries and send them in. Thank you to all who faithfully help LPA in this way!




Discovering Lake Pointe
Staff members welcomed families interest in being part of the Lake Pointe community to campus Thursday evening. After being delayed because of last week's snow, this meeting marked the first of five Discover LPA meetings that will beheld this semester.

Paper Coming to Life
Elementary art students learned how to use ordinary pencils to transform a plain white paper into a realistic dragon eye. Using various shading techniques, students give their dragons unique skin texture an glossy eyes. 


Simple Physics at Work
Using just a string and a couple washers, physics students study exactly how the centripetal force works. 

Where's my number?
First graders work as number detectives during their math meeting warm up by filling in missing numbers on the hundreds chart. Afterwards, they answered Mrs. Pullin's number riddles such as "What numbers are between 19 and 24?"

Mariners seated number one
Varsity basketball teams battled York Prep Monday, before going on the road with the JV teams to play league games in Anderson and Pageland this week. Both varsity teams have clinched number one in their conference, an LPA first! Congratulations players and coaches! The teams will have a first round bye in the playoffs and a home game in the second round. Stay tuned!
