ANNOUNCEMENTS
A Death in the Church Family
Dick Fisher died just before midnight on Tuesday. Our sympathy and prayerful support are extended to Judy, our Clerk of Session, and the entire Fisher family. His family appreciates all the prayers that have been sent for him. The church's warmth and care has been of great support over the past few weeks. The family is planning a Service of Witness to the Resurrection and Thanksgiving for Dick's life at a later time.

We give God thanks for Dick and the many ways he embodied God's love with his family, friends, and community.

Looking for a Preschool?
CHECK OUT CCNS TODAY!
We only have a couple openings left!

The 2018-2019 priority enrollment* for the CCNS Preschool will be ending on February 1, 2018! We have wonderful news..... Our Monday, Wednesday and Friday class has fifteen families (out of fifteen) ready to sign contracts and our Tuesday & Thursday class has eleven (out of twelve). We will begin sending contracts out to families on February 1, 2018.

Just a reminder to families who have submitted an application. Once open enrollment begins, no available openings will be held without an application and signed contact on file. This is the ONLY guarantee that your child will be enrolled into CCNS for the 2018-2019 school year.

If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to visit, please contact Sarah at [email protected] .

* "Priority enrollment" applications include those from children who are currently enrolled, are active members of the Oxford Presbyterian Church, or are siblings of currently-enrolled students or siblings of alumni.

The Honored Woman Award
Each year the Oxford Presbyterian Women present the Honored Woman Award to a special woman who has dedicated her time and talent to the work of the church.  The selection is made through nominations from the congregation.  If you have seen or worked beside a woman who has faithfully served the Lord and His church, please send a letter of nomination to Pat Gifford, at [email protected] , drop in my mailbox at church, or send to 6511 Morning Sun Rd., Oxford, 45056.  A new letter of nomination is needed each year, even if a woman has been nominated previously.  We are so grateful for the continued service of our Past Honored Women; however the award is only given once to an individual. Other members of the Honored Woman Committee are Johanna Reinhart and Carol Burkhalter who will also gladly accept letters of nomination.  The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2018.
Creating a Healthy Community

"Dispelling the Myths about Women and the Hijab"
Join the Miami University International Student & Scholar Services in partnership with the Women*s Center for a diverse panel discussion about a woman's choice to wear the hijab on Thursday, February 1 from 7-8 p.m. in Shideler Hall 0032.
Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat Faith build is moving along. However because Habitat of Greater Cincinnati has so many projects going, it is planning to postpone the Oxford Build for the months of February and March and return in April. We will set aside our schedule and the Faith Build group will meet again in mid March to set up the schedule for the resumption of church participation.

The best part of this is that we will have better weather!!  We are grateful to all of those who toughed out getting as much done as we did! Our system of church rotation and commitment of 5 workers and lunch for 20 worked well. We will institute that again in April. Don't worry, there is plenty of work to do to finish this house and start the last house on Carter Circle. Meanwhile we'll do a bit of fund raising. Thank you for hanging in there! If you have questions, call Prue Dana.
Meet Terry Kukuk,
our new Executive Presbyter
Presbytery of the Miami Valley is delighted to announce that the Rev. Terry Kukuk was elected to be its new Executive Presbyter at a special meeting of presbytery held on January 16. She will begin her ministry with us on or around March 1.

The Rev. Terry Kukuk is the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Missouri. In addition to her twenty years of experience as a pastor, she has been active in the life of Missouri Union Presbytery. She has served as moderator of the Coordinating Council and the Committee on Ministry. She has served her presbytery as both moderator and vice moderator. She was a teaching elder delegate to the 220th General Assembly in Pittsburgh, PA, as a well as a commissioner to the Synod of Mid-America. (Rev. Kukuk's last name is pronounced "Coo (like what a dove does) - Coo with a K at the end, and with the accent on the first syllable.")
Where are the name tags?

While amazing things are happening to enhance our space, our name tags are taking a brief hiatus. The beautiful, wood holder is being stored as are the name tags themselves. We're also exploring creative and fun ways for future name tag use and storage. If you'd like your name tag, let Carol Klumb know and she'll get it back for you.

Thanks for your patience.

Living Into Hope
When one of my friends becomes a Christian,
which happens about every 10 years because
I am a sheep about sharing my faith,
the experience is euphoric.
I see in their eyes the trueness of the story.
