Happy Family Night!
Dear St. George School Families,

Just last week, I wheeled out of our garage and into the steady rain and wind.  "Not again."  That was the one phrase that came to mind.  With this dark cloud overhead, I made a stop at the coffee stand.  The regular coffee lady smiled and thought she knew what I wanted.  I told her that I wanted some sunshine, and that I had had enough of the rain.  "Can we just get a little bit of a break?" I asked aloud to the universe.
She replied, "I have decided that I am not going to complain about the weather anymore.  It just seems so trivial compared to what is happening in the world...those poor people in Texas."  I hung my head in shame.  She didn't say this to humiliate me, but rather like a guardian angel from above, she offered truth.  "You are so right," I told her.  I so appreciate how the universe, in the guise of my friend the coffee lady, answered my question - like an arrow from above.
During Lent we can be the answer to someone else's prayer.  You and I are so limited in our response to the world's needs that seem to increase every day...tragedy seems to be more the rule than the exception. We can always choose to be our best selves, even when we are weary.  We are, each of us, blessed.   We continue to pray, and we continue to serve.

St. George Pray For Us,
  Jack Nelson
