This weekend, the NHL's best players will gather in Tampa, Florida for the 63rd NHL All-Star Game. The fan-frenzied weekend will end with the popular 3-on-3 tournament, displaying teams from each of the four divisions all competing for a $1 million prize. Dany Heatley
Four Time NHL All-Star
This month's player spotlight is on NHL alumni, Dany Heatley. After his first year at the University of Wisconsin, the Atlanta Thrashers selected Dany second overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Dany returned to the NCAA for one more season, before joining the Thrashers in 2001. Dany went on to play 13 NHL seasons, splitting time between the Senators, Sharks, Wild and Ducks. Dany left the NHL after appearing in over 900 NHL games, accumulating over 850 points. 
During Dany's career, he was voted into four NHL All-Star games, appearing on three occasions. In his first All-Star appearance, Dany went on to score four goals and the game-winning shootout marker. The performance earned Dany the game's MVP, and continues to be one of the most memorable All-Star performances of all time. Click the link below to read about Dany's All-Star memories!

A Run to Remember
The revenues earned by the NBA have always been something to which the NHL can strive to replicate, and the success of each leagues respective All-Star game is no different. In 2017, it is estimated that the NBA All-Star game in Louisiana brought an additional $44.9-million dollars in spending to the city. In 2007, a 20-year old Andrew Cogliano played his first NHL game with the Edmonton Oilers. Over the next eleven seasons, Cogliano would appear in 830 straight games, stringing together one of the most impressive iron man streaks in league history.
