Gary D. Laubenthal.    Born April 29, 1952, Gary D. Laubenthal passed away due to a long illness on March 8, 2018.   He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Lee Laubenthal;  and sister, Karen Benita;  brother-in-law, Ben Benita;  nephews and nieces.

Gary spent his childhood in Wadsworth, Ohio, with his parents, Glenna and Maurice Laubenthal;  and sisters, Maureen and Karen.   He played football for the Wadsworth Grizzlies.

The family enjoyed yearly trips to Canada, where Gary loved to fish and water ski.

After graduating from Wadsworth High School, he continued his education at Eastern Kentucky University where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor Degree in Licensed Social Work.   Gary was the Chaplain for OX Theta Chi Fraternity.

Gary started his career as a Truant Officer for the Wadsworth City Schools and further committed his passions for helping others through Job and Family Services and Goodwill Industries of Akron.   Gary enjoyed life, most of all nurturing animals back to health, gardening, and motorcycles.

In lieu of cards, flowers, please make donations to the Akron Area Humane Society and promote Dick Goddard's law  . There will be a private family memorial for Gary at a later date.
