Lutheran Schools Week will be next week, March 12-17. Dress up days and fun activities are planned for each day, culminating with Grandparents Day on Friday.
The plan for each day is:
Monday-Dress in animal print or camouflage. Presentation by the
Traveling World of Reptiles.
Tuesday- Class choice for clothing. Chapel Buddy pasta lunch.
Wednesday- Wear your red, gray, black or yellow (this year’s shirt, not the neon) Walkathon tee-shirt. All school picture taken
Thursday- Wear something from your favorite sports team. Door decorating completion. Class games, Early Childhood at 10:00, grades 1-8 at 1:30.
Friday- Wear crazy hats, socks or sunglasses. Grandparent/Grandfriend day, dismissal at 11:30.
The Graceful Evening decorating committee is looking for empty wine bottles, (clear or green) to use as centerpieces. They can be left at the school office. Thank you.
Open enrollment for new families has started.
If you have not completed your re-enrollment, please return the enrollment form, pledge form and $100 fee as soon as possible.
If your child has not returned their basketball uniform yet, please return it to the coach or the school office as soon as possible. It should be washed and in a plastic bag with the child’s name written on the bag.
The Museum of Science and Industry
is hosting a Make Festival.
The Spring Make Festival is a different kind of vacation. For four weeks, MSI is hosting a special program for expressing your creativity, including hands-on activities like a high-tech maker workshop, evening events dedicated to brewing and collective digital art, and a marathon Mini Maker Faire. The award-winning documentary film “Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age” will be shown at Grace on Sunday afternoon, April 15, at 2:30 p.m., sponsored by Youth Ministry. The film explores families’ struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to navigate the digital world. A discussion will follow the screening. Suitable for children age 5th grade and up (as well as their parents!).
