Leslie exudes warmth. Her family is interested in music, when gathered together they head for the living room and sit uncomfortably and share their love of music. She knew that she needed more seating. She also knew that she wanted the room to be warmer. While the deeper color was a stretch for her, when it went up everyone liked it so much that they extended it in to the family room.

Lighting is so important in any room. The right lamp can instantly create a different mood. The large floor lamps by the window add even more light. The fabulous chandelier provided balance, interest and warmth.

Interior moldings provide attitude as well as architectural interest. When this home was built, dark molding was popular. One of the easiest ways to upgrade this room was to paint all the moldings and trim white.

Dressing the windows makes every room feel more amazing�especially living rooms. We made the window wider by putting the panels outside the frame and taller by putting the rod higher. Fabric roller shades allowed light in to the room, helped to protect the floors and added privacy.
