Help Our Families Get Ready for SchoolChoice
Dear Teachers,

We know teachers are an important resource for our families during SchoolChoice, and we wanted to share some key information so you know about this process:
  • New this year, we are asking families to submit their application online. The application will be available at schoolchoice.dpsk12.org when the window opens Feb. 1. All families need to get started is an email address or current Parent Portal account. The application deadline is Feb. 28 at 4 p.m.

  • Families are also encouraged to call the Choice hotline at 720-423-3493 with questions or for more information.

This Week's Top 5 Things to Know
Reporting in Schoolnet will be Turned Off Feb. 1
As a part of the transition to Illuminate Data and Assessment, DPS is moving forward with deactivating certain functions of Schoolnet. On Feb. 1, all reporting will be turned off for all schools and central school-support team members. In order to access assessment reporting as well as create and administer assessment items and content, teachers will now use Illuminate.

Other functionality in Schoolnet, including professional development and archived curriculum content, will remain active. For additional information on Illuminate, please review the FAQ or take these online courses in Schoology: Illuminate 101 (course code: N5T9B-72HDF); DPS Data and Reporting in Illuminate (course code: MFRCR-T6TZV). Gradebook Course Now Available in Schoology
A Schoology gradebook course is now available for all DPS Schoology users. Enhance your knowledge of Schoology and learn how to set up and manage your Schoology gradebook by joining the course "DPS Schoology Gradebook Basics: Self-Paced". The access code is PMM9Z-7334S. Take steps to strengthen your candidacy when applying for Teacher Leadership and Collaboration teacher leader roles:
  • Review the TLC role descriptions to see which roles might be right for you.
  • Review your eligibility for Senior/Team Lead, Regional/Team Specialist and New Teacher Ambassador roles. Click here for help understanding your status. 
  • Talk with your principal to see what teacher leader openings in your school or across the district might be strong fits for you.
  • Register for the Aspiring Teacher Leader workshop on Jan. 27 and review additional online opportunities.

Have you ever wondered how much you actually make as a teacher here at DPS? As a teacher, you have access to review your compensation information within Infor HR.
Using the "View Compensation" tab, review your pay rate and pay rate history, and find stipend information for Teacher Leadership & Collaboration positions in the "Allowances" section, if applicable.

You can also review your teacher incentives using the "Non-Salary Payment History" of the Performance Pay History report in Infor Lawson. Access the report in the "Bookmarks" drop down, choose "Employee Self Service" and look in the "Pay" section.
