Business News From The City of Frederick, Maryland October 2017
|
|
Hello
The Maryland Economic Development Association (
MEDA) and communities across Maryland are recognizing October 23-27 as
Economic Development week. The City of Frederick has issued a proclamation recognizing the importance of economic development and how it can transform lives here and across the State. Mary, Becky, Donna and I are proud of the work that we do every day on behalf of the more than 70,000 citizens, 3,400 businesses, and 50,000 employees located here.
This issue of Business in Frederick ENEWS is focused on Frederick’s technology industry;
tech jobs pay better than average family supporting wages, have great benefits, and provide unique work environments. The Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (
FITCI) and
TechFrederick are supporting the growth of the tech community and helping attract tech workers to Frederick. FITCI is launching a new downtown tech incubator at Frederick County ROOT building in Downtown Frederick. Last year DED introduced a new video called “
Work Where There's Room To Play” which went viral and is solely focused on attracting young professional tech workers to Frederick. Tech is cool.
Best Regards,
