TINA TCHEN TO LEAD GRAMMYS' GENDER BIAS TASK FORCE
Tina Tchen, a Co-Founder of Time's Up and Partner at Buckley Sandler LLP, will helm the Recording Academy's task force on gender bias in the music industry. Tina will lead a 15 to 20 person team focused on identifying the various barriers and unconscious biases faced by underrepresented communities throughout the music industry and, specifically, across Recording Academy operations and policies.

"The music industry is one of many industries in which these exact issues are being called out and discussed in a way and with a vigor that hasn't happened before. I'm really glad to see that. More than any individual person, the most important thing is that we need to look systemically at these issues and work together on systemic change. It takes everyone in a company, everyone in an institution, everyone in an industry to pull together to make these changes happen," said Tina Tchen. Read more...

ROHINI DEY ON PUSHING WOMEN THROUGH THE 'GASTRO CEILING'
Rohini Dey, Founder & Owner Vermilion Restaurants (NYC & Chicago), recently spoke with Moneyish to discuss how she's pushing women through the 'gastro ceiling' and boosting senior female leadership in her industry through the James Beard Foundation's Women in Culinary Leadership program.

"The goal is for women to not just think about running the kitchen, but also about owning the kitchen. In my industry, less than 7% of executive chefs in leading restaurants are women," said Rohini Dey. Read more...

AMELIA HUNTINGTON RETURNS TO CHICAGO, JOINS DUCHOSSOIS BOARD
Amelia (Amy) Huntington, joined the Board of Directors of The Duchossois Group on January 1, 2018, after concluding a three year appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Philips Lighting Americas following 2 years in Amsterdam as CEO of Professional Lighting Systems for Royal Philips.  She has extensive global business experience, joining Philips Lighting after a 22-year career with Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management. She is pleased and excited to return to Chicago and reconnect with TCN friends after five years as a non-resident member.
SUSAN SHER AND ANDREA ZOPP HIGHLIGHTED AS BOARD MEMBERS OF EMERALD SOUTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATIVE
Susan Sher, former Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama and now Senior Adviser to the President of the University of Chicago, and Andrea Zopp,  CEO of World Business Chicago and former deputy mayor, were mentioned in a Crain's article about the new name and fundraising goal of the nonprofit that has tasked itself with coordinating development in the areas surrounding the planned Obama Presidential Center. Susan and Andrea serve on the 23-member board of Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative, which will begin raising $200,000 from foundations in the next couple of months. Read more...

At the ABA Forum on Communication Law's Annual Meeting, Dentons partner and global head of Technology, Media and Telecoms Natalie Spears led a panel presentation inspired by Joanne Lipman's new book, That's What She Said: What Men Need To Know (and Women Need to Tell Them) About Working Together. The panel conversation featured Joanne Lipman, most recently Chief Content Officer of Gannett and Editor-in-Chief of USA Today, Mary Louise Kelly, Host of NPR's All Things Considered, and Barbara Wall, General Counsel of Gannett. The Panel addressed women's advancement in the legal profession and in media, First Amendment issues surrounding the #metoo movement and news reporting on sexual misconduct in the workplace.
