GABO 2018
in the News
|
Press coverage of our latest
German American Business Outlook (GABO) survey results was robust, primarily among the German media. We had more than
150 media impressions, print and digital combined, which overwhelmingly focused on the positive outlook German companies have regarding their businesses in the U.S.
Articles appeared in major outlets such as
including interviews the GACC NY arranged for these publications with GACC Chairman Caroll Neubauer at our December 11 GABO presentation in New York City.
Coverage by the German news agency
DPA (Deutsche Presse Agentur) appeared in many other media outlets, including:
among others.
U.S. trade journals such as
DWM
also reported on the survey results, stating:"
For the first time since the inception of the German American Business Outlook (GABO), 100 percent of surveyed German companies are expecting growth for their businesses in the U.S. in 2018." DMW added that
"
Roto North America
president and CEO Chris Dimou attended the GABO event in New York City," and that Mr. Dimou plans to meet with representatives of GACC NY to discuss the skills gap challenge.

Kicking Off 2018 With Annual New Year's Reception
|
More than 120 members and supporters of the German American community, including Ambassador David Gill, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany (New York), joined the
GACC NY for its annual New Year's Reception at the Harvard Club in NYC.
Following a productive and optimistic GACC board meeting, Chairman Caroll H. Neubauer welcomed guests to the New Year's reception. He introduced the keynote speaker - his good friend U.S. Congressman Charlie Dent - who represents the 15th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.
In a nod to his German heritage and the history of German settlements in the Lehigh Valley, PA, region he represents, Congressman Dent stressed the long-standing shared values Germany and the U.S. have as well as their commitment to democratic ideals and free trade. He is a co-chairman of the Tuesday Group, a caucus of moderates within the GOP.
His responsibilities include serving as co-chair of the Congressional Study Group on Germany - an independent, non-partisan and non-advocacy organization that promotes legislative exchanges between the U.S. Congress and German Bundestag, making him an expert on U.S.-German transatlantic relations.
The German firm and GACC member,
Evonik, is also involved with the study group and last year acquired Allentown-based Air Products Performance Materials Division (in Congressman Dent's district), adding about 220 new employees in Allentown.
