We are delighted to announce our newest addition to Ventress Library – a splendid aquarium newly filled with beautiful fish! The tank is receiving a great deal of attention from patrons of all ages who pause to watch the fish swim around. We would like to thank Professional Aquarium and Pond Service of Hanover for their loan of the aquarium to the library. Stop by the library in May to relax and enjoy the fish, browse, or attend one of our many programs for children, teens and adults.  Click Here to view the Calendar of Events.

VML Cultural Series Lecture: North River Shipbuilding  Join local historian Paul F. McCarthy on Wednesday, May 15 from 7 - 8:30 p.m., as he takes you sailing on a journey through local history with an entertaining and informative slide show presentation. Come learn more about the history of ship building which was a major industry in the 18th through the early 19th centuries in Marshfield and Norwell. Library Plaza Program Room; Free! Children's Room Updates Join us in May for storytimes, Lego Club, a movie screening of family favorite Peter Rabbit (PG), and a TWIG (4th-6th grade) End of Year Celebration! You can check out our May calendar here! Our regularly scheduled school year programs end at the end of May and we will be taking a break to prepare for our busy summer schedule of events! Save the date: June 18th marks our summer reading kick-off party and the start of summer reading and learning here at Ventress! We'll have more information about summer programs to follow soon.

Free Career Workshop Join us on Tuesday, May 14 from 2 - 3:00 p.m. for a presentation by David Doyle, Job Coach at One Life at a Time, on new hiring trends, the hidden job market, job search techniques and the interviewing process. Teen Mystery Party Attention teens in grades 7 - 12!! Join us on Thursday, May 16 from 1:30-3:30 p.m on Early Release Day to solve a spy's mystery, work through fun puzzles and challenges, and play a unique character who is both a detective and a suspect in this Mystery Party!
