WEDNESDAY LENTEN GATHERING
TONIGHT @ 6:30

Come and continue your journey, your pilgrimage of
Listening... Reflecting... Responding...
with a unique and creative way of
being open to the call of God...
C ome and join with us in the Community Room tonight as we conclude our discussion on "Listening."  Even if you were not able to join us for the previous two Wednesdays, you can be a part of the conversation as we will discuss what "listening" means to us, how we experience spirituality in our "every day" and how this Lenten Season of Sundays and Wednesdays has offered help in our listening and heightened the awareness of our need to be more attentive to that still, small voice within.

Bring a snack or some finger foods to share (drinks will be provided). Come as a community to fellowship and learn; come with open hearts, minds, eyes, and ears as we continue to seek ways how we can be more aware that still, small voice within us as we "listen and respond along the way."

Remember, our Lenten journey-board, in the Gathering Area, has been our focal point of how we are listening and responding on the way as Epiphany disciples, you may bring any symbol responses that you may have completed since Sunday as we continue to add to the board each week (Wednesdays or Sundays) in marking our own journey with Jesus this Lent.
Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018

This Sunday - Palm Sunday, we begin each service outside on the patio with our Processional Liturgy,  8:00 AM and 10:30 AM.

Isaiah 50: 4-9a, Psalm 31: 9-16, Philippians 2: 5-11; Mark 11: 1-11

To The Cross - Holy Wednesday
Take advantage of this last Lenten offering to Listen and Respond on our way To The Cross.  On Wednesday of Holy Week, March 28, beginning at 6:30, we'll hear the stories of five nameless women whose lives were changed by an encounter with Jesus.  Some were part of the chosen people, some were not.  Some were marginalized due to their own actions, some were marginalized by luck of the draw.  Some sought physical healing, some sought social acceptance.  All sought spiritual health.  Listen as these women come to life with love for the One whom they believed could change their circumstances.  Their stories are powerful, their names are missing...  I wonder if their identities were left open so that we might insert our own.  Come and enter the Story.  Wednesday, March 28,
6:30 pm.
Our prayers of comfort and peace are offered to the family of Dot Boatman who died last Sunday, March 18.  We remember Dot's family during this time and celebrate her life with them.  Truly, she was a joy and a light in the darkness to many. May God's love comfort and give us peace.

Dot's Memorial Service will be held this Sunday, March 25, beginning at 2:30 in the Chapel at Park Point Village, where she lived.
Ukrainian Easter Egg Decorating (Pysanky) Workshop This Sunday, March 25
4:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Come and join us for this very special fundraising activity to support our ELCA  National Youth Gathering Participants this Sunday beginning at 4:00 pm.  Ukrainian prayer eggs were traditionally created during the cold winter months in preparation for Easter.  Symbols on the eggs may represent prayers for the recipient.  Pysanky (colored eggs) comes from a word meaning "to write" because we write on the egg with beeswax to preserve each layer of colored dye.

There is still room for you on Sunday so contact Robin Brooks at [email protected] or 803-207-1674 to register or with questions.  Registration is required.
  EASTER BREAKFAST

Come join us for the "best Easter breakfast in town" as we feast on the fellowship of good food with good people, celebrating the joy of Easter morning. We will begin serving after our Sunrise Service, around 8:15 am. Please make reservations for you and your family this Sunday by completing the bulletin insert and placing it in the offering plate. All proceeds go to the Youth Fund for the ELCA National Youth Gathering event this June in Houston, TX.

Women's Retreat
The Hero's Journey
A
pril 20th - 22nd
Lutheridge, Arden NC

You are the hero of your own story.
__ Joseph Campbell

This often-repeated quote is an expression used to demonstrate that every human being develops her own story based on her own values, hopes, and dreams. Because we have a unique, individual point of view of the world, we see it as if we ourselves live out our lives as the main character in a long saga. We will explore this idea as it pertains to the Christian Spiritual Journey and how this 'spiritual journey' is put into action. Come join us!

The total cost for a room and four meals is $140.00 for a double occupancy room or $170.00 for a single room. If you have already made a deposit, please pay the remaining amount.  All money is due for the retreat by Sunday March 25 th . A sign-up sheet is on the table in the gathering room. Please make checks out to Epiphany Lutheran Church. You can give your check to Joy, Debbie, or Sally, or put it in the offering plate.

Attention Lawn Mowing Enthusiasts

It's just about that magic time of the year again when the trees are budding, the flowers are blooming, and the grass is growing.  What a terrific time to celebrate living in South Carolina.  Along with the joys of spring comes the opportunity to join the lawn cutting ministry at Epiphany.  If you are NOT already on the lawn mowing list from previous years and want to participate in this ministry or would like to be removed from the list, please contact Rick Krenzer (MLT Property) at 803-322-2222.  This opportunity is open to both men and women.  The season will run from about the end of April until the middle of October, depending on the rain amount and the general weather.

You will be asked to cut the lawn between the church and the Saluda Center, along with the grass around the church as well.  Trimming and blowing grass off the sidewalks and cement areas is also included.

You will be paired with a partner to split this task. You and your partner will agree upon the most convenient time (preferably on Friday or Saturday).  At present the rotation is about every 8 weeks.  With more folks involved the longer the rotation.  The entire operation will take about 2.5 hours.  If you are not available to mow on your week, simply arrange to swap with someone.

You will be provided with a key to the storage building and the lawnmower.

This is a great opportunity to fellowship with a church member, improve the grounds around OUR church and to be good stewards of our financial resources (so we don't have to pay someone to cut our grass).

Thank you in advance for your participation in this ministry.

Have a Godly Day,
Rick Krenzer
