It was a fast paced, and eventful week for the Missouri Pharmacy Association at the State Capitol. This week, a number of bills that pertained to Missouri Pharmacists were taken up and debated.

Senate Bill 776
One of the key bills that was debated this week was
Senate Bill 776
. SB 776 was drafted to address some of the issues that we have heard from MPA members regarding immunizations. The current version of SB 776 would lower the age in which pharmacists may immunize children, from 12 years old to 7 years old. SB 776 also seeks to address the cumbersome notification provisions. Senator Sater presented the bill in the Seniors, Families, and Children Committee on Wednesday Morning. The bill passed its first hurdle when no one testified in opposition of it.
