THE SPARK
Highlighting outstanding donor and volunteer impact
throughout Center For Family Services.

A Tradition of Generosity
The Wyanoke Group continues to change lives in our South Jersey community.  Since the inception of the Wyanoke Childrens Support Fund in 2004, your commitment to raising funds on a year round basis through employee activities, donations, and payroll deduction gifts has provided the opportunity for a better future for people in need.

Because of you - when one of our counselors met with a family in need for the first time on Dec 21, 2017  - help was provided. While the mom had a full-time job at Walmart, the family was just barely getting by to cover rent payments and food bills. The mom shared how worried she was about her children. She had not been able to purchase furniture since she moved her three children - age 10, 16 and 17 - into the apartment in October after leaving an abusive situation. She shared how stressful it is for the family every night without a comfortable place to sleep. The family was sleeping on air mattresses.

Because of donations from employees of Wyanoke Group, funding was available to help this family.  Because of you, the mom and her children had beds, pillows and bedding in their rooms the next day - a comfortable place to relax, heal and sleep - thanks to the Wyanoke Children's Support Fund and all of you at the Wyanoke Group.
Substantial Change
To our Qaravana supporters - your work addressing hunger relief in Camden City is changing lives for children in need.

20 new children were added in January beause of you, bringing our total to 98 children per week who are no longer hungry. Children who did not have access to food last weekend, will enjoy meals this entire weekend.

This is only possible because of you.

There is more work to be done. There are more hungry children. Your continued efforts as ambassadors and influencers to increase support for this work will help the next child have food over the weekend. Keep spreading the word. Keep raising awareness.

And be proud that this weekend you made it possible for 98 children to enjoy your weekend food and fun packs!
Continuing to Share the Love
Three cheers for Prestige Subaru of Turnersville for selecting our Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) program as your local charity of choice for this year's 'Share the Love' campaign. Because you chose SERV as your beneficiary, hundreds of survivors of violence right here in South Jersey will have access to resources like our 24/7 hotline, counseling services, safe housing, and so much more. You are making it possible for these individuals to heal and become whole again.

Since 2013, Prestige Subaru of Turnersville has been supporting SERV through their Share the Love event, raising over $70,000 for survivors of domestic and sexual violence living in Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties.

Thank you for being such an important partner in our work.
Focused on Community
Thank you Sue Burrough, owner of Sue B. Photography, for your tireless dedication and commitment to capturing the faces of Center For Family Services through your amazing photographs.  Because of you, our community of supporters gets a glimpse into our work and the successes of those we serve. Your talents have also encouraged and inspired individuals featured in our success stories, providing them with the confidence needed to continue on their journey of independence.
VISTAs Leaving Their Mark
A huge thank you and congratulations to Aiden Cortell, Angeline Dorvil, Ellie Goetz, and Jaleel Taylor for completing a year of AmeriCorps VISTA service with our programs!

Because of you, Center For Family Services is better able to connect families with life-changing resources, promote the health and nutrition of our Head Start students, and provide young adults with meaningful volunteer and employment opportunities that lead to brighter futures.

You made tremendous advances to the work we do and we thank you for bringing your skills and passion to our agency.
A Lasting Friendship
Thank you to Alloy Silverstein for their continued support of Center For Family Services.

Because of your network of employees and clients, 130 children had a holiday season filled with joy and lasting memories. Thank you for being a partner and friend to the children we serve.
A Recovery of Self
September 24, 2012 was the beginning of the rest of Monica St Maur's life.

It was on this day she realized the toll her 15 year addiction to crack cocaine was taking over her life.

"I pictured my family at my funeral. I didn't want that. I wanted to stop. I was homeless because of my addiction.
My boyfriend at the time died of an overdose. I didn't have a relationship with my son. I was scared," recalls Monica.

Because of your support, Monica was connected to our Living Proof Recovery Center and her life began to change.

"It's because of Living Proof Recovery Center that I've found all the help I needed," says Monica.

Opening New Doors
To our friends at Impact Charity Services - thank you for giving one of our young men the opportunity to pursue his dream to attend Lil Drummer Boy music school. Through the tuition scholarship you are providing, along with a Mac Pro and music equipment, this young man has a bright future ahead.

Another life is changed thanks to you.

This young man is the 4th young adult receiving scholarship assistance through the partnership between Impact Charity Services and Center For Family Services.

Thank you for expanding opportunities for our young adults to follow career paths.
Committed To The Future of Camden
Thank you to Holman Enterprises for the $30,000 investment in the Camden Promise Neighborhood to provide Camden City children with every opportunity to thrive.

Your investment has increased exposure to books and words, encouraged parental involvement, promoted high attendance, and increased academic gains during the summer months for preschool age children.

Children's early learning experiences establish the foundation for future success. A strong early learning program provides children with the opportunity to be ready for kindergarten and on track for grade-level reading, a critical component in increasing the chances for high school graduation and a future that includes college and career.

Thanks to Holman Enterprises, children are on a path that provides every opportunity for success.

The commitment from Holman Enterprises lays the foundation for long term academic success and positive life outcomes for the next generation.
Friend-Mentor-Benefactor
It is with deepest sympathy that we remember Dr. Joseph W. Sokolowski.

For over a decade, Dr. Sokolowski was an incredible supporter of Center For Family Services and it's initiatives to help children living in Camden City reach their full potential. Through our Project COPE program, Dr. Sokolowski raised awareness and funds to help create positive environments for Camden City youth through mentoring. He took on a mentee of his own through the program and for over 7 years provided compassion, guidance, and love to the young man.

Thank you to all of Dr. Sokolowski's friends, colleagues and family members who made contributions to Center For Family Services in his memory.  These gifts in Dr. Sokolowski's memory will restore hope and inspire joy for children, teens and families in the communities we share.
