Every year the Mayor hosts a State of the City Celebration where each district in the city honors outstanding citizens at a gathering of over 1,000 attendees. This year, the State of the City will happen in District 6 at the San Jose City College Main Gym on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The celebration is free and open to the public but you must register by clicking

Sonic Runway Extended to March 9th
The Sonic Runway artwork, located at San Jose City Hall, will be extended until March 9th. The
artwork was originally set to be finished in January, but due to popular demand, the bloc
k-long series of 24 LED-lit arches demonstrating speed and sound through light will now stay longer.

Santa Clara Valley Water - Youth Commission
Applications Now Open
Do you know a high school student interested in having a say in how public policies affect their generation, and in learning about becoming a future public policy leader? If so, please encourage them to apply for an appointment to the Santa Clara Valley Water District Youth Commission, and get involved in issues and activities relating to water supply, conservation, flood protection, and stream stewardship.
Applications are open to high school youth (ages 13-18) who reside in Santa Clara County. Youth Commissioners will attend bimonthly meetings after school, for approximately five hours per month.

The City of San Jose's Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) is launching a new neighborhood event, Neighbor Nights, at local San Jose community centers. The event will take place every second Friday of the month.
#SJNeighborNights will offer free activities, including music, movies, crafts, dances, sports, and more. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a night of neighborly fun!

7th Annual San Jose 408k Race to the Row

Start at SAP Center in Downtown
The 7th annual San Jose 408k Race to the Row returns Sunday, March 4th. This fun point-to-point course features the famous "Mariachi Mile," and "Memorial Mile." The 408k course takes you through some of San Jose's most charming neighborhoods, including The Alameda Business District and the historic Rose Garden, before an exciting Santana Row finish and post-race party.
