Sustainability in Progress - The State of Our Parks

The Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future is hosting their monthly sustainability speaker series, Sustainability in Progress. 

This month we will hear from Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, Trails and Open Spaces, and the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance on the state of our local parks and open space. 


Pedal Perks Social Bike Ride

Thursday, March 22 4:00PM - 6:00PM

Join the bicycle community on campus as we take a 14 mile round trip bike ride to The Wild Goose Meeting House. 

Meet at the mountain lion statue at 4pm, and be back to campus by 6pm.

Energy Transitions Week

Did you miss Energy Transitions Week? Don't worry! You can stay informed on the transition to renewable energy by listening to podcasts from The Energy Transitions Show with Chris Nelder. Keep an eye out for the episode recorded  at Caf é  Scientifique during Energy Transitions Week at UCCS.  

COGA Giant Map

A giant map of Colorado has been used to help show the locations of rivers, mountains and cities. But new research shows promise for the map to develop math and spatial skills for elementary students.

 
 
UCCS hosts local food leaders during Pikes Peak Foodshed Forum 

The challenges and opportunities to fully implement a local food system served as the subject for local leaders at the Pikes Peak Foodshed Forum hosted at UCCS Feb. 24.
Ozone Research Lead Volunteer Intern

UCCS is serving as a data collection point for the National Center of Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Ground-level ozone pollution is on the rise and NCAR is interested in studying its effects on local flora. UCCS needs an intern to care for the garden, collect the data, and relay it back to climatologists at NCAR.
