Kick Butts Day
On Wednesday, March 21st, PHNR, STAND and NRMS will be recognizing Kick Butts Day.  Kick Butts Day is a day of worldwide activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. 
 
The goal of this campaign is to prevent youth tobacco and e-cigarette initiation by educating students and the community about the risk of tobacco use. The long-term goal is to create a tobacco-free generation - #BetheFirst.  
 
Activities for the day include the following:
  • Wear white to support clean air and Kick Butts Day activities.
  • Students will view a youth-led video, with the theme "Friends don't let friends smoke."  The video was created by the Cuyahoga County Tobacco Collaborative, including North Royalton students.
  • "Fill your lungs with AIR not smoke" banner and balloon arch, which will be displayed at the front entrance.
  • Posters will be displayed to help educate and reduce risk (provided by PHNR).
  • Participation prizes for middle school students include stickers, Smarties (Too Smart to Vape) and bracelets (provided by PHNR).
  • Students can sign "#BetheFirst generation to be tobacco-free" pledge banner during lunch.

Important Notes:

2018/2019 7th Grade Field Trip
Students in grades 5 and 6 received a letter today about their future 7th grade field trip.  Please be on the lookout for this letter and the exciting new opportunity that our students will have as 7th graders starting next year. 

NRMS Honor Society
7th grade students interested in the NRMS Honor Society should take an application from the main office starting Wednesday, March 21st.  Completed applications should be turned into Mrs. Garman no later than Friday, April 13th.  

PTA
