Save A Life Montgomery

The Save a Life opioid and substance abuse forum is a community wide event where parents, youth and community stakeholders can be educated on the consequences and dangers of substance abuse. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from medical personnel, law enforcement, and people who have been impacted by the disease.  Youth will engage in interactive learning and other skill building activities. The afternoon will end with questions and answers from our knowledgeable team of speakers. Please join us as we find ways to make our community safer!

Community Of Practice

The Youth Development Community of Practice offered two in-person workshops in February: "Adolescent Development" and "Responding, Reflecting and Repairing: Learning from conflict, repairing relationships and tools for self-management." Participants walked away from these workshops with an increased understanding of emotional development and restorative practices to manage conflict and build youth resiliency in their programs.

Additionally, February marked the debut of the Youth Today webinar series, addressing topics ranging from engaging African American youth in reading to building community-wide partnerships. If you would like to access the recorded versions of any webinars, please contact Emily Woodard at [email protected].

As spring kicks into gear, the Community of Practice is excited to be offering a slew of new workshops along with our annual Youth Development and Mentoring Symposium, to be held on May 22-23 at the Universities of Shady Grove. For more information about the Symposium, please see our  Save the Date.

ACE Academy

The ACE Academy family had a great time at the "Parent Celebration". Parents were able to partake in the ACE Academy experience as the students shared poetry and dance. Parents, staff and students enjoyed food, fellowship and community.
