David Regenbaum was Owner and Operator of Association Management, Inc. (AMI) from 1979-2010. AMI achieved remarkable growth and prestige under his leadership for over 36 years, resulting in AMI becoming the leading community association management firm in Texas, managing over 300 communities consisting of over 100,000 homes and commercial units. Many of his innovative management philosophies and practices have become industry standards. In 2010, he sold AMI to FirstService Residential Houston, the largest community association management company in America. Regenbaum then served as President of FirstService Residential Houston for the next four years, before "retiring." Much to our benefit, David's altruistic encore career is dedicated to empowering Houston's startup and existing small business owners and to instilling entrepreneurial skills in the greater Houston area workforce through Houston Community College!

Rebecca Schultz - Rebecca currently serves as a commercial loan officer for TDECU and as a financial educator to the community focused on building better credit for entrepreneurs. As a certified credit counselor and financial analyst, she provides energetic and engaging seminars for individuals that are serious about securing their future and gaining access to capital.

HCC Newspring Business Plan Competition Update -
Attention All Applicants:
Applications:
The application period is closed and all submitted applications are under review!
February 16:
All contestants chosen for a prized slot in the competition will be notified of acceptance!
Financial Workshops:
Some applicant teams will be attending the Financial Workshop on Saturday February 10 as part of the application requirements. All Applicant teams registered must attend the workshop or your application will be considered incomplete. Applicants chosen for the competition who are required to attend the workshop will be disqualified if it is not attended.
Creating a Successful Business Plan - Online Class: Some applicant teams are taking the online Creating a Successful Business Plan class that started January 17 as part of the application requirements. BPC applicants chosen for acceptance into the competition who are taking this class will be disqualified from the competition if they have not completed the class by February 25.
Teams Chosen for the Competition will begin free group training on February 27 and continue with free one-on-one team mentoring and group training on 3/6, 3/20, 4/3 and 4/17. Each c
hosen team must be represented at all training sessions or be disqualified. Plans due 5/7. Finalists present to judges 5/24. Competition Awards Ceremony celebrating all completer teams and awarding $30,000 in cash and in-kind prizes is on 5/30!
