Shelter News

Gisla, our first mother cat of the season, gave birth to 6 healthy kittens last week.  They are in foster care and doing well.  We also got in our first litter of bottle babies, and they too are in foster care.  Bottle babies are kittens who have lost their mother, and are fed every two to three hours by caring foster parents.

Because the weather has been so nice the cats are enjoying being out on their patios already.  Several of the rooms on the west side of the shelter have fenced in "catios" with entrances so the cats can go in and out freely for fresh air and sunshine.

The Cat Clinic is almost operating at regular hours now after our restructuring, although for now it is just open every other Saturday.  If you have need of veterinary care we have appointments available.  The clinic is fully equipped for all kinds of care, including wellness exams, surgeries, and dental procedures.  Click here for clinic information.

As of February, 2018, our King Soopers card program has brought in $51,549 to help support our cats and our mission.  Our average monthly income has increased to $800.  Thank you to all of our supporters!   Click here for information about the King Soopers Card Program.

March Adoption Promotion

Today is National Alien Abduction Day and your best defense is to have a cat with you!   A cat's purr, also known as Pallasethesia Ultroneous Radular Rataplan, produces a sound wave that drives aliens away.  If you are not currently experiencing the joy of living with a cat, please stop by the shelter.  At least you will be surrounded by many of our wonderful kitties, and you might even find one to share  your home.  Our March adoption promotion offers chances to win special discounts by spinning the wheel.   Come try your luck!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Thank You
Denver Cycle Sluts
Bingo Winner!

Cat Care Society would like to thank the Denver Cycle Sluts (DCS) for selecting our charity for the March Bingo fundraiser! We had a glittery and grand time playing naughty bingo games and were tickled with delight by the fabulous entertainers. It was a very successful night with our own supporters helping to fill up the house, in addition to the DCS followers, and a large table of DaVita employees! With all this support we raised over $1,500.

A big thanks to all the Denver Cycle Sluts - Cookie Fortuna, Zoey Diddim, Cherri Chola, Jack-Lynn Hyde, and Mae d'Misteak, for making it a special night. And a special thank you to Kay Hausensues for helping make this happen!

The Denver Cycle Sluts are Colorado's longest-lasting camp-drag comedy performing ensemble.  Since their glittery beginning in 1979, The Denver Cycle Sluts have always held one goal in mind - to raise money for charitable causes and to have as much fun as possible while accomplishing this mission!

Opt to Adopt Willow

Willow is ready for her forever home!  She is a quite senior lady, looking for a stable home, and a family that understands her friendly, but not overly demonstrative personality.  Willow lived in a home with a single woman for 14 years, and isn't used to lots of noise or commotion.  She is a very sweet girl, but she is not a lap cat.  Willow likes to have her head rubbed, and is happy to spend time with her human, but she tends to seek affection on her own terms.  She'll come up to you for attention, but she doesn't like being picked up, or having attention forced on her.  Willow would love a quiet home where she can provide companionship to someone who will understand her demeanor.

Willow is part of our perpet-u-care program! Please click the link to find out more:  http://www.catcaresociety.org/adoptions/perpet-u-care
