Johnson County is sending out some information to the community regarding the current influenza situation. Although we have not experienced many cases at Heritage, you probably have heard that influenza is hitting hard this year. EFE is quickly approaching! You won't want to miss this annual fundraiser on Friday, March 2. It's a great opportunity to invite others to get a glimpse of what Heritage is all about, hear from a dynamic speaker, Megan Fate Marshman, and support Christian education in our community. We have had lots of great donations for our Silent Auction that begins at 5pm. Like Heritage on Facebook and get a sneak peak of several of those exciting donations. The Iowa City Area Christian School Association (ICACSA) plays a crucial role in the ongoing ministry of the school. Those interested in being an active voting member of the Association must support Heritage Christian School's bylaws, which include the school's Statement of Faith, and must sign the Association membership form. In addition, members must pay annual dues of $5. If you would like to become a voting member and commit to being a regular attender at the meetings, held twice each year, please stop by the office to fill out the form and pay the dues. All current memberships expire February 1, 2018, so if you'd like to renew your membership, please do so now.

H.A.N.D.S. Open Gym Night - Friday, February 9

Heritage H.A.N.D.S. is hosting an Open Gym night at Heritage on Friday, February 9 from 6:30-8:00pm. Come when you can and let the kids play, enjoy some popcorn and socializing with other Heritage families.

No After School Care on Friday, March 2
|
| There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE from 3:30 to 5:30pm on Friday, March 2, 2018. This will allow our After School staff (and all of you) enough time to prepare and get to Bella Sala for our Educating for Eternity Event that evening. Pre-K after school will still take place until 3:30pm that day. This will only affect those in after care beginning at 3:30pm.

Friday, January 26th, games with Trinity:
The 5/6 girls team won its first game of the year 20-12! The win was a complete team effort with every team member either scoring or getting a steal during the game. The effort also brought to light the character of the individual team members in that we saw new levels of teammate support and encouragement throughout the game.
The 5/6 grade boys team came out ready to play Friday against Trinity, jumping out to an 11-2 lead early in the 1st quarter. The great team effort continued throughout the rest of the game and the Eagles finished the home schedule with a victory. The coaching staff really appreciates the focus and dedication of the players this season and we look forward to one final road game next week.
The 7/8 grade boys team hung in with the Trojans for most of the game, but fell short at the end with a final score of 20-31. Leading scorers were Adu Habte with 7 points, Jordan Robinson with 6 points, and Hunter Schau with 5 points.
Monday, January 29th, game with Pathway:
The 7/8th were back on the court Monday night at Pathway. The Eagles took control immediately and never hesitated. Final score was 37-30. Leading scorers were Kaleb Turnbough with 10 points, Sam Young and Hunter Schau with 7 points each, and Adu Habte with 6 points. After a little time off, the Eagles will meet Lutheran Interparish at their place on Tuesday, February 6th. This should be a great game!
