Richard Boles, M.D. Joins CNNH
Medical Geneticist, Director of NeuroGenomics Program at CNNH

Please welcome Dr. Richard Boles to CNNH! Dr. Boles is an international expert in genetics and mitochondrial medicine, and will be instrumental in expanding CNNH's innovative clinical model that provides personalized and precision solutions for complex and unsolved neurological, neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders, including:
  • autism,
  • neurodevelopmental delay/disabilities,
  • anxiety,
  • mood disorders,
  • headache/migraine,
  • and much more!
CNNH's patients and families will benefit from Dr. Boles' 25+ years of academic, clinical, research and administrative experience in clinical and biomedical genetics at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Keck School of Medicine at USC, and Courtagen Life Sciences. Additionally, Dr. Boles did his pediatric training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Fellowship in Genetics at Yale University School of Medicine.

"The vision and mission of CNNH align with my passion of finding answers and solutions for people that have been told there is nothing that can be done for their suffering", says Dr. Boles. "I do not believe that people who suffer from chronic and severe pain, nausea, fatigue, or from autism and other neurological disorders should be told that there is nothing 'real' going on, when, in fact, there are many treatable organic causes to these problems. The answers often are waiting to be discovered in our genetic information." Dr. Boles adds, "Although there have been major technological advances in the ability of laboratories to sequence our DNA, there remains a large gap in interpreting the results in a manner that is meaningful to patients, families, and clinicians. CNNH has been on the forefront of utilizing genetic and other clinical information for formulating pragmatic and successful treatment interventions that have helped to end the long diagnostic journeys of many patients."

"I am thrilled that someone of Dr. Boles' stature and expertise has joined in CNNH's mission", says Dr. Mintz, President of CNNH. "With the addition of Dr. Boles, our ability to understand the complexities of the patients we serve and alleviate their suffering will be greatly enhanced and enriched. Dr. Boles will be instrumental in CNNH's expanding neurogenetic and neurometabolic programs and offerings."

The CNNH NeuroGenomics Program is currently available for physicians and other health care providers for accessing our "Peer-to-Peer" service. Physicians and other health care providers will be able to consult with Dr. Boles directly about re-analyzing previously done genetic testing results, advice for managing neurometabolic disorders, or to obtain guidance on choosing and interpreting genetic testing.  Patients and families that are interested in this service should have their physician, specialist, or other health care provider contact CNNH NeuroGenomics Program at 855-852-8150 x1177 or email Debby Pasquale for more information. In the near future, patients and families will be able to directly consult with Dr. Boles.
